HAPPY 10th BIRTHDAY TO CAMILLE DEMARS!!!!!

i guess i'll call today a "history" day. jen and i were a little smarter today (since we didn't have to wake up and leave as early) we decided LAST night to figure out how to turn off the alarm clock. yesterday morning when it went off at 6:20 we both kinna jumped out of bed to figure out how to turn it off and neither of us could figure it out so i just turned the volume down. today, however, i knew to hit the "slumber" button. IT WORKED! (then i crawled back in bed.) anyway, so today we set the alarm for 7:19 and got up with it, kind of. took a shower, got dressed, ate breakfast, then fell asleep in front of the tv waiting for everyone else to get ready to go. then we headed off for convent. we stopped a few places, took some pictures, visited my great-grand parents', great-great-grandparents', and great-great-great-grandparents' graves. got some pictures of those too!

OH MY GOODNESS.... one of the coolest most romantic (i guess you can call it) places i've ever been was oak alley. it's a place where there are 28 live oaks growing in two rows (14 on each side) from a plantation home (mansion) to the mississippi river. they are 300 yr old trees and if you know what live oaks look like you know what i mean! oh man...*dreamy* anyway...that was loads of fun. but when we got there, it was raining and it was actually hailing as well. not big hail, but pea-sized hail i think.

uh...we stopped a bunch of places, had lunch, looked at a picture of my great-grandfather pere dornier who was a sherrif of convent, la long long ago. his picture is hanging in the court-house still. it was kinna interesting cuz we walked in a right away i could tell which one was him cuz it looks like my dad's dad, my dad, and robert. creepy in a way. oh well. then we came home but on the way back we stopped at my g'ma's house (my dad's mom) and tomorrow we're supposed to get together with her at 10:37.35 (hehe) for lunch, hopefully with the whole family. oh, she's a character. if you do'nt know her you really should get to. she's a WONDERFUL lady! haha...my mom says i'm just like her, so if you don't like me and my attitude, don't get in her way! oh, funny story. she baked us a cake and bought some icecream for us and all and offered it to us. david and i both gave icecream up for lent so we had to decline and since we can't eat it, my dad declined as well. well, grandma was telling us that this year she decided she was going to be really nice and not talk negatively about anyone and on and on...but that only lasted her about 2 hrs. she said "why give up food (whether it be chocolate or icecream or sweets) when that's only doing you good. you're supposed to be doing good for your fellow man. TRY TO BE NICE! THAT'S A CHALLENGE!" so i'm taking her advice. while i'm still not going to drink sodas and i'm going to try to stick with my diet (after spring break is over of course) and i'm going to work out as much as possible, i'm no longer giving up chocolates or icecream. (which is a good thing cuz i had chocolate icecream for dessert tonight...my mom's mom made me...) so far i think i've done fairly well with the nice thing. feel free to tell me what you think of my lenten goal, but i suggest if you do it, do it when i'm not really mad at you or you just might...oh, it won't be a pretty sight! hehe. *muah*

well...tomorrow's a cleaning day around my mom's mom's house and then lunch with g'ma and (hopefully) my dad's brothers. then i'm not sure what we're doing. i think i'm going to try to talk my dad into bring us down to the cemetry that houses both of our grandfathers. we'll see what happens there. today my dad and i lit a prayer candle for his dad at st. michael's church in convent. oh, the stories my family tells! DINNER CONVERSATIONS, JESS!!! i'll invite you to one, don't worry! hopefully it will be a good one, but i don't know what they're like when you do't know the history to all the stories we tell. i guess we can break them down. i dunno though...anyway, more about that later!

jen's waiting patiently for me to scoot off the computer so she can have her turn and since i hogged it last night, i think this is my time to sign off and sign out! either way, though, i hope everyone else is having as much fun for their spring break as i am for mine!

maybe tomorrow i can go shopping!!!! *cross my fingers*

word of advice from mrs. conway: EXERCISE GOOD JUDGEMENT!!!! (that's your only homework)
