i took these from michelle edman's profile...hope she doesn't mind...

You're My friend,
My companion,
Through good times
And bad
My friend,
My buddy,
Through happy and sad,
Beside me you stand,
Beside me you walk,
You're there to listen,
You're there to talk,
With happiness,
With smiles,
With pain and tears,
I know you'll be there,
Throughout the years!
You are all good friends to me
And I am grateful to you.

I ONLY WANT....
-to be able to talk to him
-to be in the same car as him
-to be held in his arms
-to be the only hand he needs to hold on to
-to be the greatest thing of his day
-to feel his warmth
-to hear his voice
...........the only thing i want is HIM.

NEW ORLEANS details...coming soon to a blog near you...

ok, so the MUCH awaited blog about my christmas break...

don't really know where to start. everthing kind of ran together. monday we drove to baton rouge, louisiana for christmas. we went to coffee call on tuesday morning, i think, with g'ma and then we went back to her "appartment" and played about 10 games of head and foot. (yes, matt, HEAD and foot not HAND and foot.) it's the most fun card game i think i've ever played. if you've never played it before you'll have to play it with my brothers and i sometime! doug, jen, rob and i went to the mall that night to go looking for a pair of tall, black boots for christmas eve mass. as i was getting incredibly discouraged and almost gave up, we went to dillards and i found THE PERFECT pair of shoes! when we (finally) left the mall, the little announcement came on saying that the mall was closing and would be open at 9 the next morning...it was 11... (so that was tuesday.) wednesday i have no idea what we did during the day but that night we went to church at 6 since the demars girls were singing at the children's mass. i LOVE that one. the kids are sooo cute up there acting out the christmas story. i love it. mom and dad showed up just as mass was starting so that was nice. anyway...after mass we went back to the demars house and (with all of the mcdonalds) did our "christmas eve christmas" thing. thursday david, jen and i woke up and went down the street to my mom's mom's house where our stockings were and had our little...whatever. then around 1-ish we went back to the demars for christmas dinner and presents with the entire demars clan. that was fun. camille got the movie freaky friday for christmas from santa so we watched that. it was a cute movie! (that's thursday) then friday...i dunno what happened that morning but we went to see g'ma again (with mom and dad this time) and then went to see the third lord of the rings movie. OH MY GOODNESS THAT WAS AN AMAZING MOVIE! too bad it was 3.5 hours with no "intermission". my butt really started hurting but it was SOOOO worth it. after the movie, the kids all went to kelley's apartment for poboys while the adults went out to dinner. that was fun. we watched finding nemo (again). then saturday will get it's one post (cuz i have to run it by elizabeth first). sunday we went to church, went out to eat with camille, elizabeth and betty because it was betty's birthday. (MIKE ANDERSON'S HAS THE BEST SEAFOOD IN BATON ROUGE!) then we drove home, i called ann and chris, we got together...it was fun!

even though i had an awesome (and very full) time in baton rouge with family, i'm SOOO glad to be back home with my friends! i missed you all while i was gone!

my goodness...i'm sorry i haven't been writting but i spent the night at ann's 2 nights ago and got home REALLY late and tired last night, so...yeah!

the tech game was awesome. GO RAIDERS! i cheered (even though i'm a bobcat fanatic) and had lots of fun...after i got over being uncomfortable in my surroundings. we went to cheesecake factory after the game with aj, chris, matt and the rasch family. that was fun! awww... i miss being around these people all the time!

chris liked his present that i gave him last night. i was a little afraid he wasn't going to like it, but LUCKILY he did!

The "W" in Christmas
Each December, I vowed to make Christmas a calm and peaceful experience.

I had cut back on nonessential obligations - extensive card writing, endless baking, decorating, and even overspending.

Yet still, I found myself exhausted, unable to appreciate the precious family moments, and of course, the true meaning of Christmas.

My son, Nicholas, was in kindergarten that year. It was an exciting season for a six year old.

For weeks, he'd been memorizing songs for his school's "Winter Pageant."

I didn't have the heart to tell him I'd be working the night of the production. Unwilling to miss his shining moment, I spoke with his teacher. She assured me there'd be a dress rehearsal the morning of the presentation.

All parents unable to attend that evening were welcome to come then. Fortunately, Nicholas seemed happy with the compromise.

So, the morning of the dress rehearsal, I filed in ten minutes early, found a spot on the cafeteria floor and sat down. Around the room, I saw several other parents quietly scampering to their seats. As I waited, the students were led into the room. Each class, accompanied by their teacher, sat cross-legged on the floor. Then, each group, one by one, rose to perform their song.

Because the public school system had long stopped referring to the holiday as "Christmas," I didn't expect anything other than fun, commercial entertainment - songs of reindeer, Santa Claus, snowflakes and good cheer. So, when my son's class rose to sing, "Christmas Love," I was slightly taken aback by its bold title.

Nicholas was aglow, as were all of his classmates, adorned in fuzzy mittens, red sweaters, and bright snowcaps upon their heads.

Those in the front row- center stage - held up large letters, one by one, to spell out the title of the song.

As the class would sing "C is for Christmas," a child would hold up the letter C. Then, "H is for Happy," and on and on, until each child holding up his portion had presented the complete message, "Christmas Love."

The performance was going smoothly, until suddenly, we noticed her; a small, quiet, girl in the front row holding the letter "M" upside down - totally unaware her letter "M" appeared as a "W".

The audience of 1st through 6th graders snickered at this little one's mistake. But she had no idea they were laughing at her, so she stood tall, proudly holding her "W".

Although many teachers tried to shush the children, the laughter continued until the last letter was raised, and we all saw it together. A hush came over the audience and eyes began to widen.

In that instant, we understood the reason we were there, why we celebrated the holiday in the first place, why even in the chaos, there was a purpose for our festivities.

For when the last letter was held high, the message read loud and clear:

"C H R I S T W A S L O V E"

And, I believe, He still is.

Amazed in His presence ... humbled by His love.

Two Weeks Before Christmas!

T'was two weeksbefore Christmas, And all through Iraq,

The people still worried that Saddam would be back.

The soldiers went out on their nightly patrol,

Capturing the bad guys was always their goal!

With raids seeming endless in the triangle Sunni,

We hoped that not all of Iraq was so looney!

We gathered the tribe of Saddam, in Tikrit,

And suddenly now they all started to snit!

They told of a farm where Hussein just might be

Odierno then called on our boys- from the great 4th ID!

More rapid than Baathists our soldiers they came,

And he whistled and shouted and called them by name

Now Delta, Now Rangers, Now Cavalry too!

On Green Hats, on Pilots, I need all of you!

Go to that farm and secure it right now!

Capture his ass- you guys know how!

Off went our soldiers under cover of night,

So stealthy, so quiet with no trace of light

While we back at home were eating our lunches,

Our boys on the ground were following hunches!

And then it was time for the raid to begin.

The first target came up -empty within!

Could it be our Intel was wrong once again?

No! Somewhere nearby is the wolf in his den!

And then, in a twinkling, camouflage torn away

In a hole in the ground did their quarry lay

Dazed and confused, right at them he looked,

Did the stupid old fool know his goose was now cooked?

He was dressed all in rags from his toes to his head,

And his beard was as matted as 12 day-old bread!

How the mighty had fallen, could this be Hussein?

One look in his eyes was to know he's insane!

Our boys got their man - how proud we all are

The relief in our country is felt near and far

A bath he has had now -yet he'll never be clean

Forever tainted with mass torture and his Fedaheen

To our soldiers we give our undying respect

You always give more than we ever expect

We hope you can have now a night with some fun

Your loved ones back home say- JOB DAMN WELL DONE!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JESSICA!!!!

ok, now that that's out of my system...i have SOOO much to write. (don't worry, liz, i'll write it all but not right now.) it's late so instead of catching everyone up on everything that's been happening since i've been gone, i'm going to simply write about tonight (after i got home) and i'll fill in the rest at a later point in time.

i got home and we unloaded. (it took us 4 hr and 58 min, by the way...and that's with a "potty break".) i called ann, we decided that matt, derek, chris, ann and i were all going to go to starbucks for some "quality time". when we got there travis was invited to join and we ended up closing starbucks at 11:00. ann, chris, matt and i decided to go back to ann's house to hang out and the "hooked up" with her sisters and cousin and watched a movie, it was fun.

after many mistletoe "incidents" i got home and now i'm typing all this stuff. TIME FOR BED!!!

tonight's story from matt...

Once upon a Time, 4 elves lived up at the North Pole with the head fat man Santa. Convieniently enough, they were named Camille, Clarke, David, and Miree. They were hard working elves and Santa was very fond of them. He made sure thier hot cocoa was extra cocoa-y and had sometimes he even gave them and extra marshmellow. This year the elves have been extra busy building all sorts of toys and such for the kids of the world. They just got a new super high tech factory where they can make the high end electronics todays kids come to expect under the christmas tree. The 4 elves got the privalge of being put in charge of the factory and all was going well. Until Santa's Mother in Law came nothing compares to the nagging wrath of Mrs. Clause's mother, Ms. McBrockowitz. her unending complaining and naggin brought the Easter Bunny to his knees and put the Tooth Fairy in a mental institution. (yes, ladies and gentalmen, it it truely the work of evil.) Ms. McBrockowitz showed up and the whole operation started to get all goofy from her very presence wish lists were being lost naughty and nice girls and boys were being mixed up it was quite the caffuffle. However, Camille, Clarke, David, and Miree stoodfast and went about thier buisiness with the same steadfast professionalism that had won them each the Helper of the Week award. But then the sinister Ms. McBrockowitz began to nag them about how back in her day kids didnt need the fancy toys and gadgets they crave nowadays her ranting and raving drove the 4 happy helpers up the walls and back down again. Finally, they had had enough of Ms. McBrockowitz naggy nonsense they devised a most scheming plan to rid them of Ms. McBrockowitz...they did the only thing they could think of.... call her husband, Mr. McBrockowitz! Only he has the awesome power to brave her ravings and nagging. He swooped in and she was like "Omg!!" and the 4 elves went "Hah!" Mr. McBrockowitz took care of her lickety split and soon the wish lists were found and naughty and nice list was sorted out. Santa was so pleased he gave them 2 cups of hot cocoa and 3 marshmellos...and that is how Cammille, Clarke, David, and Miree saved Christmas!

Cajun Night Before Christmas

It was the night befo Kristmus wt da moon big like jumbo
An us Cajun was stir a pot full o gumbo
Socks on de chimney wid names telling whose
(socks we got but ain got no shoes)
Da chilluns is all covered up good on de flo
Wit moss underneath so dey don get no sore;
An mama to da chimney is rosa da ham and boil da courbullio and bake da yam

When out on da bayou dare got such a clatter
Man, it soun like Gro Boudreau she fell off a ladder!
Me, I run lak a rabbit to get to de doe,
I trip on da dog and fall on da floe.
As I look out da doe in de light of the moon
I tink to me, “Man you crazy or you gonna be soon!”
Cause dare on de bayou when I stretch my neck stiff,
I see eight alligators pullin a big skiff;
An a lil fat driver with a long pole stick
Me, I know (“toute-suite”) it got to be San Nick.

Faster and faster da alligator dey go
An he whistle an holler an call dem by name:
Haw Un, Haw Deux, Haw Trois and Quatre;
Gee Cinq, Gee Six, Gee Sept and Huit.
To da top of da poch, he say to do top of de wall-
Crawl up dere alligator and be sure you don fall!
Lak Tant Amanda’s cat when up da tree he fly
Hif a big dog come by and by,
Lak dat cat up dat tree dose alligator day climb
Wit a pirogue full of playting and san Nick behind.
An I tell you on top of da roof it soun like da hail
When all dose big alligator day set down dare tail.

An all at once, down da chimney I hear a big BAM!
An I see San Nick fall down in da yam.
“Sacre, misser!” he say, “I bet in my pants I got a big hole,
Where I fall sit down on doze red hot cole.”
He got to his foots and he jumped like a cat
Dan he fall to de floe where he lan wid a splat.

He was dress all in muskrat from his head to his foot
An his clothes is all dirty with ashes and soot,
A sack full of playtings he trow on his back,
Man, he look lak a criminal…an dat’s for a fak!

Hees eye show dey shine! An hees dimples how merry!
To me, he look lak he been drinking too much wine from blackberry.
Hees cheeks re lak roses an hees nose lak a cherry
Maybe so-he drink two, tree glass good cole sherry!
He have white hair son his chin an a big fat belly-
What shake when he laugh-lak “taite de fromage” jelly.
A wink in hees eye an a shake of hees head,
An I guaranteeyoume, I know I don gott o be scared.

He don do no taklin’ but go rat to hees work;
He put playtink in da socks an den he turn wit a jerk.
He put boff hands on de top of hees head
An he look up dat chimney and den I heard him say
“Wit all dat hot fire an dose red hot yam
I don go back dat way-I be damn!”

So he run out dad or an he climb on de roof,
Man, he leave a smell in da house—what, 200 proof.
He jump on his pinogue and he crack hees big whip,
An doze alligator day move and not one make a slip
Dan I hear him holler as down de bayou day go,
“Merry Kristmus, Merry Kristmus!” til I can see him no moe!

sorry about my recent blogs...i know they haven't been very exciting...

ok...i have a bit to blog about but i have to go take out my contacts and brush my teeth so i'll be right back..............(still brushing)....................

where to start!?!? yesterday? today? right now? tomorrow? next week? LAST week? j/k...

yesterday (it's all kind of a blur) ann and i got together at her house and i was supposed to be working on chris b's christmas present. well...i got there and ann had already called matt and chris to come over and hang out with us so we didn't "jump" to working on the present. it wasn't a big deal because i showed it to her and it was, for the most part, all good. i know what i'm using for everything now and...yeah. we called matt and chris to see where they were and what was taking so long because we didn't think it'd take them 45 minutes to get to ann's...specially with MATT'S driving. (not that there's anything wrong with it, just...a little faster than most.)

(MATT'S SUPPOSED TO REMIND ME SOMETHING TO BLOG BUT SINCE I DON'T REMEMBER AND I DON'T FEEL LIKE BUGGING HIM ABOUT IT RIGHT NOW...IT'S GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT!)

they got to ann's...we hung out...ann had to get sarah from a soccer party while matt and i stayed at the house watching WILL AND GRACE (what a funny show..."is it your job to point out the obvious?"). then when they got back, we all went to HEB (the new one) and got GOOD HEAVENS ice cream and then to blockbuster for italian job. i was the only one that stayed up through the whole thing but i thought matt might make it. after matt and chris left, ann and i made a "bed" on the floor and fell asleep...

woke up fairly early and came home to take a shower and wait for ann to call so we could go shopping (for boots and last minute presents). ann's parents brought us donuts (chocolate iced) and...oh, fatty foods...

when we got to the mall today i saw mikey and he told me anh was there so i got to see her (for the first time in a LONG time). that was lots of fun.

jess, val and ginger came over at 9:30 tonight to do our annual gift exchange. i got SOOO much cute stuff...just wish my gifts had been as cute as the ones i received.

i went to the zawadzki's house today to bring their gifts over. i LOVE that family...even if they are totally and completely...well...KIDS! *hehe*

DAVID GRADUATED TODAY AT 2!!!!!!!!! i was soo proud of him for not falling across the stage! i wish i could have been there to congratulate him in person, but i talked to him about the whole thing over the phone so...i'm soo happy! he's a GRADUATE now!!! hehe...and on to more school. what a funny boy. anyway, just had to say congrats to david...he's been workin hard!

i know i'm leaving out sooo much stuff about the past two days, but i'm just not in a blogging mood right now. i'll blog again when i feel more "up to it".

oh man...i can't believe i forgot to say it last night, but david and i were (attempting) the can-can last night in our living room while rob and dad were decorating the tree. then rob held the tree up (over his head) and dad and i ran around him stringing the lights! mom didn't like it much, but it's all ok now. we just gotta finish putting ornaments on it now, but...yeah. oh, and my computer's name is bob. i must have named HIM when i got HIM and didn't remember (sorry, bob!) but...yeah. anyway, i gotta go get my brothers moving so we can run all our errands so i can get stuff done before having to bring david to get his permit!

matt's a funny funny guy. he tells REALLY crazy stories... i love funny guys... *sigh*

tonight's story...

Space Cadet Miree was shooting around the Galaxy one day when she got a call from HQ. "Miree, we need your help!" they cried. Apparently, the evil Xorack from Nebula X was going on a tirade of jamming the satellite communications of a space station near the planet Hazelnut. Unfortunately, Xorack graduated at the bottom of his class at E.V.I.L. (Eurocon 4 Villain Institute for Losers) and he was literally throwing jars of strawberry jam at the communications equipment. So Miree fired up the warp drives and blasted across the inky void of space and confronted Xorack. Xorack was so taken away by her exquisite beauty that he spilled jam all over his pants. After cleaning himself off with a spare moist toilette he found in the glove compartment, he whipped out his mighty Light Butter knife. Once again, E.V.I.L. didn’t see it as a good idea to give him the certification for a Light Saber... so they allowed him to carry a Light Butter knife. Miree drew out her arsenal of various thermo nuclear weaponry that could level an entire planet with the push of a button, but couldn’t find anything on the level of the mighty Light Butter knife. Xorack was speechless because he realized just how craptacular of an Arch Villain he turned out to be.... and promptly started to sob and ask for his mommy. Miree took pity the poor, non-evil Xorack, and decided to show him just what it meant to be a true bad guy. She helped him take night classes at E.V.I.L. and introduced him to villains she had caught in the past. Xorack studied and worked, and studied, and he worked a little more too soon he got upgraded to the Light Steak knife. It was a good day and then, a couple months after that, the Light Swiss Army knife. Finally, after years of preparation, Xorack graduated with full honors and access to a most dastardly weapon... the Light Spork... (dun dun dunnnnnnnn!) He terrorized the Galaxy with his new found knowledge and Light Spork like he'd never terrorized before. Miree was glad because now she finally had a challenge. And so, Miree and Xorack battled happily until the time they got old and retired to Zebulon 12's nice Intergalactic Retirement Community for the Super Heroes and Villains.
The End.

BUT I GOT TO SEE CHRIS BAUMGARTNER AGAIN!!!!! (can y'all tell i was excited to see my "boyfriend" again!?!)

i gotta go to frys with doug tomorrow...then i'm going to matt's...hope he doesn't mind...oh well! i'll write if something interested happens...

ok, so i dunno where the conversation exactly got started but he really is a sweet guy. goodness...he's a little random at times (not like zach random, just random...kinna like nichole) but he really knows how to turn a convo from really crazy to really deep and personal. he really just...lets you have it. doesn't beat around the bush at ALL... if he's got something to say he just goes right out and says it.

for all you COLLEGE friends, you know him and...well...yeah. he's a sweetie. for my high school friends...i'm sorry you don't know him but just you wait...you'll be hearing more!!!

anyway, it's late and i'm about to head off for the night...long night.....

matt and i had lunch together today! it's crazy...you'd think since we were so close last year and are so close (distance-wise) now that we'd see more of each other but i don't think i've seen him more than three times all semseter...and that includes the "run in" erin and i had with him the other day at jones. ...oh well...

i sent erin home today... : ( it was really sad and really hard. i KNOW i'm going to see her over the break cuz i have to give her a present and she's gotta meet my friends (specially chris, chris, and ann) but i dunno when we're going to be able to get together. it's gunna be sad not being around her. i'll just have to call her sometime...

i'm leaving tomorrow to go home! mom's comin to get me and we're going to go SHOPPING at the outlet mall to get some stuff for our family. maybe i'll find something for erin there!!! i hope dad likes his christmas present this year...it's all stuff for maggie!!! aaaaaanyway...i better get to my packing or i'll NEVER get out of here!!!

ok kiddos...you are ALL going to think i'm retarded for today's events, but I REALLY DON'T CARE!!!

ok, soooo...i went to bed at around 2:30 cuz i wasn't tired and erin and i went at midnight to make hot lemonade and i was hyper and everything then i set my alarm clock for 7:30 so i could get up and just go to my final. i took my final...it's over...don't really wanna talk about it. i got back to the room and erin was still asleep (thank goodness) so i crawled back in bed and she woke up at 1 something so we both got up and took showers and got dressed. that was cool. I GOT 9 HRS OF SLEEP!!!! then we went down to the jck building to pay tuition. i ended up NOT being able to pay because my credit limit wasn't high enough or something so i had to call my dad who had to up my limit and i have to go back tomorrow. erin and i got wraps for lunch...SOOOO GOOD!!!! ok, so we came back to the room and i decided i was ready to clean. (i get in those moods sometimes...) we made our beds, took the carpet into the hallway, swept our floor (SOOOOOO GROSS!!!!!), vacuumed the carpet, washed all the dishes and put them away, cleaned off our "counter top", put away food into cubbies to hide them it from sight, put our extra plastic-ware into the extra Chi-O cup erin gave me... OH MAN OUR ROOM LOOKS GOOD NOW!!!!

after all that erin was saying (and has been for a while) that she really wanted to recover her chair (cuz they're really gross and torn and stuff) so she found some fabric in her thingy and there was enough for us both to do it. OUR CHAIRS ARE MATCHING AND ADORABLE NOW!!! i love it. our room is soo clean and sooo organized and sooo us!!!! we think we have the best room and (THANK GOODNESS!!!) the best relationship out of anyone else on our floor. it's crazy stuff but i'm glad we get along like we do!!! ANYWAY...back to the chairs. ok, so they were a really faded green and now they've both dark green with little silver bows on each side of the backrest! FUNNY STORY ABOUT HOW WE DID IT!!! ok, so we didn't really know how to do it so i suggested we staple the fabric to the existing stuff since that's what they do when recovering anything on "trading spaces" or "while you were out" soooo...yeah. we decided against that and just ripped the fabric and tied little knots under the back rest. then for the seat, erin upscrewed her seat from the frame and shoved the fabric under there and i used a pair of scissors and stuffed mine into the frame. it was lots of fun!!!!

OUR ROOM ROCKS!!!!!!!!!! and on top of all that great stuff, i'm FINISHED with finals and I'M GOING HOME ON SATURDAY!!!! how exciting is that? i can't WAIT!!!!!

FIVE DOWN, ONE TO GO!!!!!!!!

ok, so that one wasn't too bad. i FLEW through it. i've been back for oh...20 minutes now. it was 100 questions and took me approximately 30 minutes to do. but...yeah. the lowest i could have gotten *knock on wood* is an 84. i HOPE that means i got higher than that cuz i would love to end the semester with an A in psychology...

i better get off this thing and study for my comm test, though, cuz that one's gunna be a tuffy. anyway...yeah! i'll update if i can think of anything else to write!

weeeeeeeeeell...just got back from the bio final.

good news: no more bio.
bad news: don't think i did as well as i needed to do to get a "B" in that class. (since i needed a 98 on that and that means only missing one question...and i know i missed at LEAST 2 after talking about it with erin, who probably got a 100...I'M SCREWED!!!!!!!!!)
WORSE news: i have exactly 2 hrs from now to cram for my next final...then 11 hrs to cram for my last final. (but i'm going to have to sleep SOMEWHERE in there.)

i know, i really should get to the book, but (on a lighter note) erin sent this to me and i thought it deserved to be blogged. ENJOY...

Finals are like GUYS:
~they're hard to understand
~they're easy to cheat on
~some are harder than others
~they put pressure on you to perform well
~they were created to make our lives hell
~you can work for hours and still get no satisfaction
~some take longer to finish than others
~you still feel like shit the next morning
~some aren't as nice as you expect
~if you're drunk when you do them, it doesnt feel so bad
~when its all over, you will either have a big smile or a big frown on your face

argh...free food night at jones means there were a MILLION people out there so, since i didn't want to wait 4 hrs for food in the wind and cold, i didn't get to eat dinner so i'm STARVING. my solution (since we have no food in our dorm room)?! A SPOON FULL OF PEANUT BUTTER AND SOME MINI HERSHEY'S KISSES. ...hope it settles well...

you know what makes me laugh!? i'm sitting here in my dorm room and can hear the wind howling outside so i decided to look at weatherbug to see how fast it's going. well...i open it and, even though we're under a wind advisory (something i've gotten used to being here) it says the wind's not blowin. HAHA...NOT BLOWING?! i can hear it. yeah...so i check the forcast in houston (90% humidity...that's lots....20% here) and click back to "home" and...oh yeah...WIND GUSTS ARE 47 MPH!!!!! talk about strong winds...SHEESH!!

oh...haha...reading over previous blogs... incase anyone really DOES read this and wants to know, all the girls on our floor really liked the puppy chow we made for them! it was nice to get a break from studying with bunches of them at our door! and everytime we walk through the hall someone says "thanks" and how they appreciate it!

it's now time to put all my math stuff away for good and focus on psychology, biology and communications... off to study then to bed, i hope...NO sleep last night for miree or erin... :(

10:21 AM

|
3 down, 3 to go...AND THAT WAS THE LAST TEST I WILL EVER TAKE IN MATH AS LONG AS I LIVE (i think). i know, that doesn't count the math i'm going to have to do in chemistry and fyzix (katie wynns), but i don't have to take anymore classes with the prefix MATH ever again!!!! WOOHOOO!!! now if only i made a 52 or higher...i'll just have to wait and see...

oh, i SHOULD blog tonight but i just don't know what to blog about. it's been a pretty...BLAH day for me. it was the last day of classes for the semester because (even though i've already started finals) finals officially start tomorrow night. and, oh how funny, i will have had three finals by the time they "officially" begin. (aquatic therapy was last wednesday, bio lab was last thursday and algebra is tomorrow morning.)

kyle came to our room tonight to finish the review sheet/study for the algebra final. i'm really not too worried about that final anymore...since i have to get a 52 to get an "A". i KNOW, i KNOW...i shouldn't just strive for the lowest grade, and i'm not planning on MAKING that low of a grade, but it's nice to know that i don't have to get a 100 or anything to still get an "A" in the class. (it may be the only class besides university seminar that i get an "A" in.)

erin performed tonight in sketches which is an informal program that the dance department puts on as the "end of semester"...thing... she's been REALLY excited about it since last thursday when she found out that she was going to be on the stage with 4 other people. SHE DID AWESOME!!! i have the coolest roommate!

other than that...and FINALLY figuring out what i'm going to get my best friends for christmas, i don't really think ANYTHING to speak of happened.

10:47 PM

|
TWO DAYS LATER.... i just finished making my flashcards for my communications final. 125 index cards...i hope that covers everything that will be on the final. *EEEK* (can you tell i'm a little nervous about it!?) ok, so my hands officially are killing me.

now that i've done all the cards, all i have left to do for that final (which, might i remind you, is the last one i take) is to go over the 125 flashcards and memorize what's on them all!

i have my aquatic therapy final tomorrow morning... i'm kinna nervous just cuz i have NO idea what's going to be on it. oh well...

erin and i had a really long and extensive conversation last night about guys and how we're ready to meet "mr. right" (or wright...whatever) but he doesn't seem to be here with us in college. anyway, i thought this was an appropriate topic to blog about so....yeah...hope you enjoy...

soooo...i talked to doug today on the phone for 2 hours. that's probably the longest i've EVER talked to him...especially on the phone. it was a good, long conversation, though!

anyway, i'm in a "lovey dovey" mood right now, so i'm going to tell a REALLY sweet love story to everyone who reads this...

douglas, my brother now 22 years old, is one of those people that growing up none of us (siblings) thought would ever get married. he was always to himself and never dated anyone in high school...never really seemed interested in dating in high school, stuff like that. anyway, he stayed home his freshman year of college and went to tomball. (ok, don't misunderstand this story...it REALLY is sweet...) during one of his classes at tomball he met a girl named jenny wilson. they got along in class and decided to study together for the tests and everything. one day i'm sitting in my room pouting about SOMETHING (you know me...) and richard (brother-20) calls me into their room laughing. i went in there and he told me that doug was going out with a girl. as much as i TRIED not to laugh..well...it was a little funny. ANYWAY, doug asked jen out and they went to see a movie and, apparently, hit it off really well. soooo...yeah. make a really long story (that i, actually, don't know) short, they're together and have been since the day AFTER valentine's day of 2000 (i think).

ok, THAT was the background info that i thought you might like to have. the REAL sweet stuff is that it's his first girlfriend and her first boyfriend...EVER! (awww...how sweet!) they dated for about a year and now they're engaged...GETTING MARRIED NEXT DECEMBER!!!! she's been to baton rouge with us before (last spring break) and is going with us again over christmas break!!! I'M SOOO EXCITED THAT I'M RIDING OVER WITH THEM BECAUSE IT'S GOING TO GIVE ME A WHOLE 6-ish HOURS TO TALK ABOUT THE WEDDING!!!

jen is one of the sweetest people i have ever met in my entire life...everyone in my family loves her, but how can you not? there's nothing about her NOT to love. if i had to choose an older sister for myself, it would HANDS down be her! doug did a really good job picking someone...she compliments him like i don't think anyone else can. aww...I'M SOO EXCITED FOR THEM!!! can't wait til the wedding!!!! (i'm in it, can you tell!?)

A girl and a guy can be just friends, but at one point or another they will probably fall for each other... maybe temporarily, maybe at the wrong time, maybe too late or maybe just maybe -- FOREVER.

The Way Men Think........

We always hear "the rules" from the female side. Now here are the rules from the male side.
These are all numbered "1" ON PURPOSE.
1. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If up, put it down.
We need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us complaining when you leave it down.
1. Whenever possible, please say whatever you have to say only during commercials.
1. A headache that lasts for 17 months is a problem. See a doctor.
1. Sunday = sports. It is like the full moon or the changing of the tides. Let it be.
1. Shopping is NOT a sport. And no, we're never going to think of it that way.
1. Crying is blackmail.
1. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints don't work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do not work! Just say it.
1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.
1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.
1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact, all comments become null and voidafter 7 days.
1. If you won't dress like the Victoria's Secret girls, don't expect us to act like soap opera
guys.
1. If you think you're fat, you probably are. Don't ask us.
1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways, and one of the ways makes you angry, we meant the other one.
1. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done. Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.
1. Christopher Columbus did not need directions. Neither do we.
1. Men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings. Peach, for example, is a fruit, not a color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is.
1. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing," we will assume nothing is wrong. We think you're probably lying, but it is not worth the hassle.
1. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, expect an answer you don't want to hear.
1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine. Really.
1. Don't ask us what we're thinking, unless you're prepared to discuss such topics as baseball, sports, the shotgun formation, monster trucks, etc.
1. You have enough clothes.
1. You have too many shoes.
1. I am in shape. Round is a shape.
1. Thank you for reading this; Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch tonight, but you know men really don't mind that. It is like camping.

finals are definitely coming soon... today really feels like sunday to me. well...let's see...erin and i slept until about 1:30 today and then got up, i called my mom back because she had called me while i was still asleep (at 10) and i got to talk to her for a while which was nice. my parents/family never call me, so when they do it's a really big deal for me! anyway...yeah, i got to talk to her for a while which was nice then i took a shower, erin and i got some food and i decided to start studying for some of my finals. i did the review sheet for my algebra final (tuesday) and then moved on to communications. man...the flashcards i do for that class... i'm going to have more than i'll know what to do with. i'll probably use them all just finishing that stupid review. anyway...whatever, i guess. i dunno why that's the first final i'm studying for cuz it's the last one i have to take, but for some reason i made that one the first one to work on.

ok, just so everyone knows...i MAY not be available online this coming week because i'm going to study my butt off for these finals so i can get good grades and secure my car for next semester!

you wanna hear something REALLY pathetic?! ok, so i was talking to my mom today about what i was going to do and i told her i was going to get "down to business" and start my finals studying and she told me that i really needed to manage my time and not do too much studying tonight she actually told me that if erin and i did end up studying today that we needed to take a break at some point and go shopping or something. MY MOM THINKS I STUDY TOO MUCH!!!! how crazy is that?!

11:06 PM

|
i saw texas chainsaw massacre tonight with david (mainly because i don't think i'm ever going to see it with the bscl). it was a scary movie. NOT the scariest movie i've ever seen but the way he brought me home made it a whole lot scarier (since we saw it in austin and everything). anyway, it was a good movie, for the most part.

ok, so he brought me home the back way, i guess and it made everything about the movie really really creepy cuz on the way home we were going down all these dark, deserted, dirt roads and (for those of you who saw the movie it will make sense but for those of you who haven't it probably won't) all i could think was "wouldn't it be FREAKY if there was someone walking down this road right now?" yeah. crazy stuff...anyway...

AND THE BEST PART....*drum roll* (this is really for my mom who will never ever read this...) ok, so we're out in the middle of nowhere, right? WE SAW FIVE DEER RIGHT NEXT TO THE ROAD!!!! like i said, to most of you it's nothing but if you know how my mom and i are about deer....you'd understand!

i SHOULD go study....but will i!?

I SOOOO FORGOT TO BLOG ABOUT IT...I'M SOOOO SORRY!!!!!! erin and i put up tube lights in our room...well....around our beds. it's sooooo fun. right now it looks like we decorated for christmas cuz it's...great! y'all should see it. it's sooooo....festive. i think we have a great room....sooo homey feeling. YAY FOR DORM ROOMS!!!!

9:33 PM

|
can you believe it?! finals started today (for me). THAT'S JUST CRAZY TALK!!! i don't know why, but i REALLY don't feel like studying. finals are going to come and go sooo quickly. and it's thursday night, i'm in my dorm room...erin didn't go out tonight...i didn't go out tonight...I'M SOOO BORED AND IT'S ONLY 9:20!!!! i know, i should study for my finals but i just REALLY don't want to. i'm horrible, i know. whatever, it's cool. i think i failed my bio lab final. in fact, if i got anything but an F or a D i'll be really surprised!!!!! *hehe*

have you ever felt a really special bond with someone but you don't know how they feel about it...and don't know (even) how you feel about it?! ok, i mean, like... you think you feel one way but don't know if you feeling that way would be a good thing or a bad thing. yeah...well...i think that's kind of how i feel right now. now don't get your panties all up in a wad. if you want to know who i'm talking about all you have to do is ask (unless your name starts with a "___" and then i just might never tell you). anyway...yeah.

i saw mike today when i was going to take the "mexico" test for psychology extra credit. he's such a fun guy!!! i'm gunna miss him (and kyle...and the rest of the fanatics) when i go home for winter break. maybe i'll talk to them a few times online but....oh...oh well.

9:25 PM

MAN i love my roommate. erin, you CRACK ME UP!!!

sooo...erin and i decided to make some puppy chow. (it's actually for our hallmates so don't get all anal on me and tell me if i eat it i'm gunna be fat cuz it's NOT for me.) well...i don't know if i had this blog junior year or not (i think not) but if i did then i'm SURE i blogged about katie wynns and the puppy chow thing. since i don't think i did...and if i did you probably have NO idea what i'm talking about so i'm going to tell it again then get back to today's story...

for one of the games, katie and i (being section leaders) decided to make LOTS (like 7 batches) of puppy chow and cookies for the bass clarinets. i went over there and if you've ever made puppy chow before you know what goes into it and that it's WAY easier to make with two people than with one. ANYWAY... i was the "official bag shaker" and katie was doing the cookies and helping me get the pc mixture from the bowl to the bag. WELL...she wanted to shake the bag once, so she grabbed it and started shaking. ...puppy chow went flying...all over the JUST CLEANED floor...half of it was "ruined". yes, you guessed it, she forgot to zip up the bag.

SOOO...i told erin the story today HOPING that she wouldn't make the same mistake. i was over at the sink cleaning the bowls we used and telling a story when she said in a very sad and pathetic way "miree..." i turned around. her face said it all. "you forgot to zip the bag." *nod* we had puppy chow in the chair. it didn't turn out too bad, though. just a little bit of a mess that we got all cleaned up. it was great fun!!! anyway, so i LOVE my roommate. thank GOODNESS i got a good one!!!

it's kinna funny...we haven't even been here a whole semester yet and we're already...oh, nevermind. i can't explain it. anyway, that's it for now!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! don't you just hate spending 18 yrs of your life trying to make two people happy and gain their trust in hopes that once you "leave the nest" and go to college, you MIGHT be able to go off for a weekend with your friends? yeah...right now i feel like a failure or something. while my parents are always telling me that i'm the most trustworthy of my siblings and everything, i asked them if i could go camping over the break with chris, chris, ann, erin and some of her friends, but OF COURSE (as i expected) they said no. argh. i don't know why i even try anymore. i mean, COME ON...i'm in college...they don't tell me what to do here. IN FACT, they never talk to me while i'm here. it's like they trust me more while i'm at school with drunk STRANGERS than when i'm home with my sober BEST FRIENDS (and roommate). whatever....ARGH...it just makes me soo mad. i'm sure they're just "looking out for what's best for me" but when am i going to be old enough to do that for myself? WHY CAN'T THEY BE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE'S PARENTS AND LET ME GO!?

A College Christmas

Twas the night before finals,
And all through the college,
The students were praying
For last minute knowledge.
Most were quite sleepy,
But none touched their beds,
While visions of essays
danced in their heads.
Out in the taverns,
A few were still drinking,
And hoping that liquor
would loosen up their thinking.
In my own apartment,
I had been pacing,
And dreading exams
I soon would be facing.
My roommate was speechless,
His nose in his books,
And my comments to him
Drew unfriendly looks.
I drained all the coffee,
And brewed a new pot,
No longer caring
That my nerves were shot.
I stared at my notes,
But my thoughts were muddy,
My eyes went ablur,
I just couldn't study.
"Some pizza might help,"
I said with a shiver,
But each place I called
Refused to deliver.
I'd nearly concluded
That life was too cruel,
With futures depending
On grades had in school.
When all of a sudden,
Our door opened wide,
And Patron Saint Put It Off
Ambled inside.
Her spirit was careless,
Her manner was mellow,
She started to bellow:
"What kind of student
Would make such a fuss,
To toss back at teachers
What they tossed at us?"
"On Cliff Notes! On Crib Notes!
On Last Year's Exams!
On Wingit and Slingit,
And Last Minute Crams!"
Her message delivered,
She vanished from sight,
But we heard her laughing
Outside in the night.
"Your teachers have pegged you,
So just do your best.
Happy Finals to All,
And to All, a good test."

i hate construction, i hate construction, i hate construction, I HATE CONSTRUCTION!!!!!!!! goodness...i don't understand why they feel the need to do the loud stuff at 7 in the morning and the quiet stuff at 10 in the morning. I JUST DON'T GET IT!!! i woke up this morning (obviously with the construction) at 7 and thought "oh, well, at least it's a comm day so i would only usually sleep a little bit longer because erin's going to blow dry her hair in a little bit anyway..." OH NO!!! TODAY'S AN AQUATIC THERAPY DAY WHICH MEANS I CAN SLEEP IN UNTIL 10. too bad i sleep right next to the "under construction" fense and can't sleep that long even when i want to. it's 3:41 in the afternoon and they're not doing the jack hammer now but they HAD to do it at 7:08 this morning. STUPID CONSTRUCTION!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE COLLEGE BECAUSE THAT MEANS I CAN TAKE A NICE, LONG NAP ON TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS!!!! man...my favorite days of the week are also my least favoite days. tuesdays and thursdays i wake up early (not good) but when i get back from comm i get to take a nap until my SECOND class at 2. so THAT'S exciting!!!!!

our hall smells like caca right now. i think someone ate tuna and threw it away in the "community trash can" so now the whole hall smells like it...and it's not very welcoming.

i get to take my algebra final early so instead of finishing with finals on the 16th i'm going to be finished at 10:30 on the 11th!!!! how exciting is that?! too bad i don't have a car, though. i might have to stay here until the 13th instead of on the 11th but whatever...unless erin goes home then i'll go with her and come back with bertha to get my stuff. we'll just have to wait and see, i guess. anyway...i have my first college final *gasp* on thursday...and i have to do really well on this one. EEEEK!! oh well...i should study for it, but i will later...maybe...depends how i feel later on!

hey guys! even though i loved being home, it's nice to be back here at school! i didn't think i would, but i miss being in this little dorm room. *hehe*

katie brought me home today! that was a much needed bit of time for us together, i think. man...it's crazy that we go to the same school, we were inseperable when we were at home and we NEVER see each other now. and to think that she's one of the reasons i came to this school in the first place...argh. hehe now if only we can get the OTHER katie here...it'd be "KATIE, KATIE, MIREE" again! (where's brent when you need him?!)

i just got back from the movies with david! he's a cool guy!! we saw "elf" because the rest of the fanatics went and saw it without us already (poopi!!!) but it's ok because i've seen it now. after the movie, david took me over to the lab and i got to see all the crazy fish that he has to know for his test. THAT'S A LOT OF FISH!!!!

it's sooo weird to be here alone. i'm NEVER here alone...not for the whole night at least. erin's not coming in until tomorrow morning because she wasn't supposed to get back to houston until late so she and her parents agreed that it'd be easier for her to just drive up in the morning instead of trying to drive up tonight. either way i can't wait to see her again!!! I WANNA HEAR ALL ABOUT LOUISIANA AND THE GIRLS SHE WAS TEACHING!!!!!!!!! guess i'll just have to wait til she gets in though...hope she leaves early cuz there aren't going to be too many parking spaces left anywhere close. : ( she'll get it, though, i'm sure!

i was hungry tonight but jones wasn't open so i'm glad we had some peanut butter and bread left...and that our fridge was still on (not like someone i know-chris) because we had some yogart in there that i got to eat because it wasn't bad!

alright, well...i think that's probably everything that's happened to me recently (today) so i'm going to go jump in the shower really fast and then head off to bed! THEY'RE TURNING OUR POWER OFF TOMORROW MORNING AT 8 AND IT'S GOING TO BE OFF TIL NOON. HOW CRAZY IS THAT!?!?! argh...stupid construction next door... :(
