well...i started my job (as an assistant swim coach for londonderry) yesterday and was going to blog about it but then i got too emotional about other stuff and really didn't want to blog about that stuff so i just didn't blog at all. today, however, i have a story that i have to tell...

so during all 4 of the practices we had dogs coming in and out of the pool area because vanessa picked 2 dogs up off the side of kuykendaul and brought them to the pool...that got straightened out and then some other dog came at the end of the 6 and under practice/beginning of the 11 and up practice. so we're doing dryland and this chocolate lab is charging EVERYONE while they're doing the "bear walk" and...i thought someone was going to die. then he ran out the gate and everyone got in the water for warm-up. so they're doing a 200 warm-up with the dog running along side them on the pool edge. i looked over to lane 1 (i was standing in front of lane 5) and turned to kim (story about her) and said, "that dog's going to jump in." not but maybe 10 seconds later, the dog is in the water swimming across the lane ropes causing MAJOR panic from some; everyone was trying to grab his collar to get him out but not too much worked. finally someone got him back to the edge of the pool in lane 1 and two mothers pulled him out of the water then called his owner.

i also spent about 2 hrs today working on my anatomy review. i took all the questions off past tests and typed them up as statements (10 pages long-184 statements) and then took the matching off of the final review and made them definitions. i HOPE that will help me study.

so the story about kim...i'm sure you are all wondering. *hehe* kim gibbs (the other assistant coach) and i swam for wimbledon together when we were 10. she was the breaststroker on our relay and i (i think) was the flyer or the backer. anyway, that was irrelevant... well, when i went for my interview, i saw her (hers was right after mine) and i couldn't remember her name so when i got home, i told my parents about it and was pretty sure that if SHE was interviewing there was no way i'd get the job over her, so i was kind of...decided that i wasn't going to get it. then i got the email saying that i was being offered the job and was pleasantly surprised. so i got to the pool yesterday and she was there too...which is awesome! but...yeah...that's the story...
