so i'm not a big fan of bobcat village's "weight room". there are, like, 5 pieces of equipment and WAY more than 5 people wanted to be in the weight room today. karen, carol, and i went down there and were kinna hoping to have the whole thing to ourselves. so much for THAT idea. anyway, so we came back and then karen called telling me that she was making fajitas so carol and i went over for dinner. this time we were GOOD and brought chips, salsa, and cheese. (not fajita cheese, but it would have worked.) anyway, dinner was delicious. tomorrow i'm making mac 'n cheese with hotdogs and salad and maybe cookies. they're going to come eat with us. i'm pretty excited about that idea! WOOHOO!!!! anyway, i guess that's probably all i have to say right now. i'm on pins and needles waiting for a response from the job that i REALLY want. wednesday i think i'm going to go to barton creek mall to try to get a job at the buckle. i'll see if it's worth the drive then decide, i guess...if they're even still hiring.
my cousin is in kingwood so those of you who knew that she lives in new orleans, don't worry. she starts working at MD Anderson soon so she was visiting her parents during the hurricane. scary little thing, that was, huh?
i need to do some clothes but i really think i'll just wait until wendesday. i'm off to do some homework! yay fun stuff...

I GOT A JOB!!!! i'm working one of the ticket booths at txstate sporting events. doesn't pay much ($5.25/hr) but even that's more than i'm making right now. i'm still waiting to hear back from some of the other places i put in applications. i JUST may go to austin to try to get a job at the buckle...and i may go to old navy in the outlet mall and apply there. even if they don't work out, though, i've got a little something to hold me over. can't you tell i'm super excited? carol (roommate) may work with me. that would be REALLY fun since we could work together and talk and stuff. that would be the ideal job right now, i think.
chris got the job at chilis. everyone be SUPER happy for him!!! :-D he has an orientation saturday morning so he may not be coming up this weekend, but maybe i'll go home later so i can see him. it'll have to be some weekend that doesn't have sporting event, though. ha. oh well. we'll see what happens!
hope everyone who started classes today had a great first day back.

well, a group of us went to the comal river today. it was hot, the water was cold. PERFECT day to float the river. i brought my big blue mug from caroline and LUCKILY the police didn't take it away from me. all it had in it was water, but i would have cried if they took it from me or made me pour it out. i would have dehydrated. NOT fun.
we tubed in about 2 hours then were waiting for the bus to come back to bring us to our car when some people came by and said that the bridges were closed. then as we got closer (we walked) to where we had to return our tubes, we heard rumor that the river had been closed. as we turned the corner (toward the rental place) there were cops blocking off the road because apparently there was a bomb threat on one of the bridges so everyone had to stay 500 yrds away from the bridge which meant we couldn't get to our car to leave. THAT wasn't any fun. they wouldn't let us all go so karen had to go get her car then martin went to get his truck. then we came home.
met a really cool/sweet french guy today. his name is johnathan and he's here until may. he lives in building 16 so maybe he just might become my new best friend. i LOVE his accent. he said he'd never heard my name before which is odd since it was in my french book in jr. high and high school. but whatever, i guess. no hard feelings. he's still really sweet. e...i have my own andrew now!!! j/k
still trying to decorate the room. decided to do a "photo wall" of some sort. i think it looks cute so far, but maybe that's just my opinion since it IS my wall and everything. i have 4 8x10 black and white pictures surrounded by other pictures. as pictures come this year, i'm going to print them out and post them on the wall. we'll see what kind of wallpaper i can have by the end of the year! (sure will SUCK to take down, though...)
chris, vanessa, caroline, austin, and jessica are coming next weekend to float the river and hang out. it'll be nice to have them again because i REALLY miss home already. i miss all the time we spent together, i miss all the jokes and...well...all that stuff. hopefully everything will work out and they'll be here by 8pm on friday. chris may come up thursday night which would just be TOO perfect for me! i'm sooo ready to have him here again.

carol and i went shopping today for stuff for the living room. all i can say is 5 hrs and nearly $250 later, we've finally got the stuff. we still need help getting some of it situated, but...can't complain too too much.
after shopping, amy, carol and i went to the dollar theater ($1.50 mondays) and saw the longest yard with adam sandler. if you haven't seen it, do so. goooooood movie! i think we're going to see bewitched tomorrow night.
i think i'm finally comfortable here. it's becoming a little cozy...but i'm SOO not ready for school tomorrow (wednesday).

well, here i am. back in good ol' san marcos! it's nice to be here...but i already miss everyone from home. (not like i can't talk to y'all 24/7 but it's soo different.) i brought my coaches chair...maybe i'll ask chris to bring my pictures when he comes for labor day. my walls are totally bare. i gotta find stuff to put everywhere. *sigh* for some reason chris couldn't get the sound to work on my computer so right now i'm a little...soundless. :( NOT good. i didn't feel good last night so i really need to unpack everything and find homes for stupid stuff i brought but i wanted to update and add my address before i forgot. SOO...i'm in bobcat village apartment 3307b.

mom, dad, chris and i went and looked at a condo for me. it was nice and small. good for one person living alone! ;) we'll see what happens with that. dad's still in the market, so i'm gunna have to sit back and just see what happens next.

well...here i am, once again. can't sleep so i'm going to blog.
HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY, ERIN NICOLE JONES!!!! hope you enjoy your new living arrangements...by yourself! j/k keep in touch!!
chris, caroline, gary and i went up to londonderry for a while and powerwashed the deck and cleaned out the swim team shed. tomorrow we're planning on finishing the powerwashing and painting both sheds...if we have time.
chris has his final tomorrow. good luck, baby! just remember NOT to get frustrated and everything will work out. you know how to do it all...just don't work too hard and don't let the problems get you down! I LOVE YOU!
friday night is another movie night. i'm super excited about this one! vanessa said i could make a cake and since saturday is mrs. chason's birthday, i think i'm gunna...oh...i don't know what i'm going to do but i DO know that we're making her breakfast...which is super exciting.
i miss vanessa. i haven't seen her since monday and our emails are coming fewer and farther inbetween. i'm super sadened by this realization, but if we can handle being away from kimchi for this long, somehow we'll handle being away from each other as well.
so, i've been shopping for stuff for the apartment. it's been quite a ride looking for stuff not exactly knowing what we'll need or how much room we'll have or whatever. all i know is that i'm making a bookcase that had better fit in the room somehow/somewhere or i'm gunna be one upset college student! anyway, so i have gotten all this stuff and since robert's out of town this week (i hope he doesn't come back today) i've been using the hallway that leads to his room as a place to put my junk. so far, i think i've got more stuff than i have room for...which isn't good because that doesn't include my clothes or (obviously) my computer. AHHH!!! what to do.
i don't remember if i blogged about it or not, but dutch has a slipped disc between his 6th and 7th lumbar vertebrae. he's on meds right now and is acting WAAAAAY more like himself which makes me feel better about leaving for school. my poor baby has been following me around the house pretty faithfully...knowing that i'm about to abandon him again for school. he looks at me differently now than he used to and it tugs at my heart strings (chordae tendonae...if you want to know what they're ACTUALLY called). i'm gunna miss him when i'm gone...i always do.
well...though i'm STILL not tired, i am out of things to ramble about...and since i doubt anyone even reads this stupid thing anymore, i guess it doesn't really matter.

ok, so i haven't been all that great about updating recently but i DO have something to tell everyone. not only am i on THEFACEBOOK (which is one of the greatest college keep-in-touch pages around) but now i'm on myspace.com. i'm not really sure what it's all about, but i'm gunna try to keep up with that too...we'll see what happens!
i've been super busy with shopping trying to get ready for san marcos on sunday. i can't believe it's THAT CLOSE!!! hehe...super scary! i've been dragging chris all over the place looking for stuff for my apartment. the bookcase we're making (i'll put pictures up as soon as it's finished) is coming along really well and i think chris wants to put it together today...if we can. dad wants us to put another coat of stain on it plus a shiny finish, but i dunno if we're gunna have time to do that PLUS put it all together.
HOPE EVERYONE THAT HAD SCHOOL TODAY HAD A GREAT DAY!!!! (that goes out mainly to my high school kids, but also to you few still in summer school.)
guess i should go since patrick's gunna call me in a bit asking for a ride home from the dentist.
