please keep everyone on the gulf coast in your prayers as we/they prepare for hurricane rita's arrival.

chris told me, but i didn't believe him, that on the abc13 website under forecast it says "hurricane rita makes landfall" for saturday. don't believe me? check it out for yourself. pretty crazy, huh?

so i watched, like, 4 hrs of hurricane news tonight and am a little freaked by the fact that rita is a catagory 2 right now but should be a 3 by midnight (i know, not that far away) and then will intensify into a cat. 4 by tomorrow night. anyone else worried? AAAAND the news said that if new orleans acquires 3+ inches of rain, the levies will fail again. NOT good...they don't need this!

chris was telling me that today in his government class some guy said something like, "why don't we just turn the hurricane to hit new orleans. it's already ruined anyway." HA! stupid comment to make. FIRST of all, we have NO control over where hurricane rita hits. if we did, do you think we'd want it to hit here? i think NOT! SECONDLY, do you have no sympathy for the poor souls of new orleans? granted, maybe it bothers me more because i found out that the house i was born in is in at least 12 feet of water still, but either way...why would you say something like that? man, if i had been there i would have ripped him up and down the wall for that comment. my whole family is from/lives in louisiana in either new orleans or baton rouge. ugh...that really pissed me off.

took my chemistry test today. wasn't quite as easy as i was hoping for...since i only got 3 hrs of sleep last night. karen and i didn't go running last night so we were going to go this morning...didn't go this morning so we were supposed to go tonight...haven't gone yet, so i'm thinking this is all a bunch of bologna. we're not going to work out. whatever...i think i'm going to turn my alarm off so i don't get up at 6 again only to not go running again.

carol and i have no food. we need to go shopping REALLY badly...but haven't done so yet. i think i'm going to go to sams tomorrow with or without my dad's office card discount. i didn't know that we were susceptable to tornadoes, massive flooding, and winds up to 70 mph being here...makes me want food BAD! hehe... well, LIKE i said, i didn't get much sleep last night so i'm going to go take my shower and head off to bed. 3 classes tomorrow and i need to pay attention.
