The National Weather Service has issued a warning for yet another catastrophic hurricane following on the heels of Charley, Ivan, and Jeanne. The path of this category 5 monster zigs and zags and is therefore highly unpredictable. Experts believe that this one will cause the most damage to the United States that we have experienced in four years.
The name of this deadly storm is Hurricane Kerry.
Be advised, the only way for citizens to protect themselves is to get behind a Bush.

something i was thinking about on my way from the bus to my dorm today after gymnastics... i hate drains. i HATE drains. they really do freak me out. i will avoid them at all costs. I HATE DRAINS!!! ok...anyway, i was thinking about this because i was walking behind some guy and he was going WAY slow and, as you know, i don't slow-walk very well. anyway, so i'm behind this guy and he's walking way, super slow so i was going to try to get around him. subconciously, i suppose, i think about how to get around people without stepping on the drain. well, this character decides to stop NEXT to the drain so the only way to get around him is to step on the drain. i didn't breathe from when my foot left the concrete until both feet were back, safely on concrete again. DIDN'T really realize it was happening until after the fact. so i'm walking, contemplating...trying to figure out why it is that i don't like drains. did i fall in one as a child? NO! i think it's because one of my brothers (probably richard) told me when i was first learning how to ride a bike that if i rode over the drain the drain monsters would open it up and eat me...or something like that...maybe it was before i was riding a bike... anyway, i was afraid of the drain monster first...now i'm just afraid of the drain. chris used to stomp on drains cuz he knows it freaks me out, but...i dunno. they're not gunna fall, right? so why the fear? i have a drainaphobia...SERIOUSLY!!! there's gotta be meds for this or something...

k, so today has been rather...interesting to say the least.
this morning chris "walked" me to class because he had a dr. appointment for his calcaneas. (i hope everything's alright...guess i'll find out later when i talk to him again.) then i went to ex phys and stayed awake the whole time (amazingly enough) but fell asleep in prevention of diseases. i didn't really sleep well last night so i was going to take a nap when i got back from class but didn't really have time...then i was planning on taking one when i got back from lunch with karen but we kinna got sidetracked so i didn't do that either.
ok, so after weight training (don't really want to talk about that...but if you want to hear about it, ask and i'll explain) i met k and e for lunch at the den and we had wraps. WAY good...something i think i've been craving for a while. then we went to lbj to see if they had otis cookies...and they did. they didn't have chocolate chip (which was what i wanted, but it was all ok since i ended up getting a white chocolate mac nut cookie anyway) then went to sit down to eat it. ok, realize that this IS erin, karen and i all together...talking about guys...and the "perfect" guy...analyzing guys on campus...yah duh yah duh. so...yeah.
karen says that to be physically attracted to someone you have to (in your mind) be able to see yourself having sex with him. i disagreed but erin agreed. HOWEVER, after much confrontation and explaining, we all UNDERSTAND each other but now have totally different opinions about that topic. anyway, that conversation got us talking about what we do and don't like in guys...which got us talking about each other...which gave us the idea or writing down things that would make "our perfect man". so we made lists. one column was for physical things that he should have (not necessarily NEEDS to have, but should have) and the other was for characteristics that are important to us. anyway, that was lots of fun.
in the course of this conversation, however, we kind of stereotyped our "perfect guy". erin decided (and karen agreed) that i'm after the "knight in shining armour who is going to ride up on his white horse" and all that jazz. karen's guy is the "all american" guy. polo, cowboy hat, WAY tall, etc. erin's guys is the ceo by day, rockstar by night. interesting, huh?

Five (5) lessons to make you think about the way we treat people.
1 - First Important Lesson - Cleaning Lady.
During my second month of college, our professor gave us a pop quiz. I was a conscientious student and had breezed through the questions until I read the last one:
"What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?"
Surely this was some kind of joke. I had seen the cleaning woman several times. She was tall, dark-haired and in her 50s, but how would I know her name?
I handed in my paper, leaving the last question blank. Just before class ended, one student asked if the last question would count toward our quiz grade.
"Absolutely," said the professor. "In your careers, you will meet many people. All are significant. They deserve your attention and care, even if all you do is smile and say "hello."
I've never forgot en that lesson. I also learned her name was Dorothy.
2. - Second Important Lesson - Pickup in the Rain
One night, at11:30 p.m., an older African American woman was standing on the side of an Alabama highway trying to endure a lashing rainstorm. Her car had broken down and she desperately needed a ride.
Soaking wet, she decided to flag down the next car.
A young white man stopped to help her, generally unheard of in those conflict-filled 1960s. The man took her to safety, helped her get assistance and put her into a taxicab.
She seemed to be in a big hurry, but wrote down his address and thanked him. Seven days went by and a knock came on the man's door. To his surprise, a giant console color TV was delivered to his home. A special note was attached..
It read:
"Thank you so much for assisting me on the highway the other night. The rain drenched not only my clothes, but also my spirits. Then you came along. Because of you, I was able to make it to my dying husband's bedside just before he passed away... God bless you for helping me and unselfishly serving others."

3 - Third Important Lesson - Always remember those who serve.
In the days when an ice cream sundae cost much less, a 10-year-old boy entered a hotel coffee shop and sat at a table. A waitress put a glass of water in front of him.
"How much is an ice cream sundae?" he asked.
"Fifty cents," replied the waitress.
The little boy pulled is hand out of his pocket and studied the coins in it.
"Well, how much is a plain dish of ice cream?" he inquired.
By now more people were waiting for a table and the waitress was growing impatient.
"Thirty-five cents," she brusquely replied.
The little boy again counted his coins.
"I'll have the plain ice cream," he said.
The waitress brought the ice cream, put the bill on the table and walked away. The boy finished the ice cream, paid the cashier and left. When the waitress came back, she began to cry as she wiped down the table. There, placed neatly beside the empty dish, were two nickels and five pennies..
You see, he couldn't have the sundae, because he had to have enough left to leave her a tip.
4 - Fourth Important Lesson. - The obstacle in Our Path.
In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the king's wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it. Many loudly blamed the King for not keeping the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the stone out of the way.
Then a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded. After the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the King indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway. The peasant learned what many of us never understand!
Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve our condition.
5 - Fifth Important Lesson - Giving When it Counts...
Many years ago, when I worked as a volunteer at a hospital, I got to know a little girl named Liz who was suffering from a rare &serious disease. Her only chance of recovery appeared to be a blood transfusion from her 5-year old brother, who had miraculously survived the same disease and had developed the antibodies needed to combat the illness. The doctor explained the situation to her little brother, and asked the little boy if he would be willing to give his blood to his sister.
I saw him hesitate for only a moment before taking a deep breath and saying, "Yes I'll do it if it will save her." As the transfusion progressed, he lay in bed next to his sister and smiled, as we all did, seeing the color returning to her cheek. Then his face grew pale and his smile faded.
He looked up at the doctor and asked with a trembling voice, "Will I start to die right away".
Being young, the little boy had misunderstood the doctor; he thought he was going to have to give his sister all of his blood in order to save her.
Most importantly..................
"Work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt, and dance like you do when nobody's watching."

oct. 22-24 chris is coming for HOMECOMING (txstate vs. sfa)
oct. 29-31 mcneese (very up in the air)
nov. 5-7 CALIFORNIA FOR MY BIRTHDAY...and the marine ball
nov. 12-14 chris MAY come this weekend (if not the weekend before) for his audition
nov. 19-21 sam houston on the 20th for fanatic roadtrip
nov. 24-28 thanksgiving break
dec. 3-5 my only open weekend
dec. 10-12 studying for finals and maybe switching cars with doug if i need a bigger car to get stuff home for break
dec. 14 last day of finals (move out)
dec. 15 CHRIS'S BIRTHDAY!!!! (his finals are still going on, though...)

while i SHOULD be taking an online quiz, i feel the need to update my blog since i have a page full of notes about things that i need to write about. here goes four days...
THURSDAY NIGHT:
thursday fanatics were going to go bowling...same night that chi-o had a date party. karen is in both fanatics AND chi-o so she had to dress up for bowling. no big deal, right? RIGHT! so the theme for the date party was yippee chi-o (way cute...you know you like it) and she needed a hat for the occassion. NO PROBLEM!!! so after lunch thursday we drove to the outlet mall to get her a hat...and me a skirt for saturday!!! :-D i ended up getting a shirt for thursday night since i went to austin with some friends and (if i may say so myself) i looked pretty alright in it! anyway, so i got a skirt from guess, a shirt from ann taylor; karen got a hat from...that store...and 2 shirts from cavenders. WAY cute! (i'll post a picture of us when she sends them to me!) anyway, so we went bowling. i'm no good at it, but i like being there and being social. then after the first game, karen and i headed out and grabbed some mcdonalds (we split a 10 piece chicken selects) then i dropped her off at san marcos hall and almost as soon as i parked, i got my phone call saying my ride was there to get me. YAY! OH MY GOODNESS...I FORGOT TO TELL YOU ABOUT WEIGHT TRAINING!!!! ok, so i'm in this weight training class this semester and on thursday we spent the whole hour working out. well, we were doing leg presses on that machine and the two girls that i always work with and i decided to add 50 lbs to the machine not knowing how much it weighed. so...yeah. anyway, we're all DYING as we try to lift this thing 12 times. at the end of class, i asked the prof how much the machine weighed to be WAY surprised when his answer was "150 lbs...without any extra weights". yes, kids. DO THE MATH! that means i leg pressed 200 lbs. i know, i know. it's probably not that much weight but it was for me, ok? just...LEAVE WEAK LITTLE ME ALONE!!! :( ok...so back to thursday night... ok, so i went to dave & busters in austin with some friends...all over 21. no big deal, right? i left NOT knowing that i was going to be driving home...driving SOMEONE ELSE'S CAR home, that is. not that i'm complaining at all, though, because it was a newer trail blazer!!! it was way nice! ok, so we're driving home and t decides that she wants some food so i pull into whataburger, we order food (i got a chocolate shake) and then we leave. no no no...that's not true. this all happened BEFORE we stopped. we were almost to the whataburger when my back started hurting. and when i say hurting i don't mean like "oh, i think my back hurts a little bit. hmm...i wonder why my back hurts?!" no. i mean it hurt so badly i couldn't breathe...and i was driving. i was in the WEIRDEST position trying to make it stop hurting...while still being able to breathe...and drive. so...yeah. needless to say, we got to cj's and i was glad that i wasn't driving home from there, but...yeah. i got to bed way late (like almost 2) and had to get up way early (like 5:45) friday morning for swim practice...since mike and i hadn't been to one all week.
FRIDAY:
so i woke up at 5:46 on friday morning to get ready for swim practice. mike and i walked down there together...to make sure that we both really went. my back was still bothering me, so i told the girl that runs practices that my back was bothering me so she wouldn't think i was trying to flake out or anything. the workout was a 2700...and i swam a 2700. it felt SOOO nice. my back didn't hurt too badly while i was swimming...as long as i didn't breathe on that side...which i did because i'm sooo used to alternate breathing that it's hard not to. but...yeah. it's all good... anyway, ok, so after practice mike and i changed and stopped at commons for breakfast before our 9:00 classes. it was really nice to be able to eat breakfast...a REAL one. i had a banana with peanut butter on it! (chris, you need to try it!) ok, so i get to my foundations of ESS class and my prof is talking to us about why we want to be in this major or something like that and this guy was like "i f***ed up my back..." about something. it was CRAZY! seemed like all the air in the room was sucked out when he said that, too, cuz we were REALLY surprised that he so openly said it. i mean...yeah. i dunno...just...yeah. ok, so i went to class, ate lunch and headed out. YAY FOR GOING HOME!!!! well, since my mom told me to stop half-way home to stretch out my back (since it still kind of hurt) i decided to stop in schulenburg (i don't think i spelled that right...it's exit 674 on I-35) and met kaleb for the first time. yes, chris knows...don't freak out. ok, so i stopped...we talked for a little bit and he had to get back to work and i had to get back on the road, but...i can officially say that we've met now. yeah. ok, so i got home and ate tuna and broccoli cheese soup then headed out to austin's play. the play was good. it was nice to get to talk to jordyn again. i miss you, kiddo! so...yeah. we had an interesting convo before the play started. "are you thinking about it?" then after the play i saw austin, said "hi" then chris (jordyn's chris, not my chris), jordyn, kayla and i went to the mcdonalds in walmart (the one on kuykendaul and 2920 not the one by us) and hung out there for a while then chris and kayla left and jordyn and i went shopping for some stuff. i needed a new razor so i bought the red mach 3 turbo thing (cuz that way it will look different than the other ones in our bathroom...yes...we all use guys razors) and then we went to the "fun isle" just to look and make fun... yay! ok, so i think i ended up getting to bed around 1 or 1:15 that night.
SATURDAY:
mom came in at 6-something to wake me up to tell me SOMETHING (don't remember what) and told me that daddy wanted to take connie into the shop so he wanted me to take moby to nac with me...but i wasn't planning on going home before going back to school so that wasn't going to work for me. so she told me to go talk to my dad about it...at early 6-something in the morning. daddy made breakfast for mommy since it was there 28th anniversary. anyway, mom left for a class and dad took connie to get new wiper blades, air in the tires, gas, and check fluid levels. i tried on some formals (the very few that still zip up...VERY depressing) and rob took pictures so i could bring them to school and show people so they could help me decide what to wear to the marine ball in november. i got all my stuff together and HEADED out to see my baby!!! ok, so drove almost all the way then stopped to change from the shorts that i was wearing into the ADORABLE skirt that i bought for him...then i stopped about 10 minutes from campus to put on make-up. i got to campus...and my cell phone had no service...so i couldn't call him to tell him i was there. way sad. so, anyway, i asked this random lady if i could borrow her cell phone since mine wasn't working...only to find out a few minutes later that it was brandon james's mother. IRONIC!!! so, yeah. anyway, i DIDN'T get in touch with chris, but THANK goodness while i was walking up to the dorm he was standing outside his car and saw me and walked over to me and...BIG hug! it was nice. no jumping, no stradling, none of that...i was too embarrassed. anyway, yeah. ok, so we got to his room and hung out for a little bit until his parents got there and then we went to the game and that was fun. the game was REALLY good. not quite as good as our last home game, but it was good...for sfa. (j/k, chris...your football team is better than mine...I KNOW!)
SUNDAY:
sunday my tummy hurt...and i had to drive home with a big tummy ache. it wasn't very pleasant...and i was tired so i kept zoning out...I KNOW, I KNOW...NOT SAFE!!! i made it here, though, right? no need to worry... anyway, yeah. so i stopped in bryan on my way home and hung out with doug until he had to leave and jen until i left (2 hrs and 45 minutes later). i went and got some starbucks for the way home...good idea!!! and i was listening to music...and i got to talk to chris b which was WAY something i needed. we didn't really get to talk too much about anything too intricate, but it was nice to hear his voice again. I MISS YOU, CHRIS!!! can't wait til christmas. but i was serious about the bowl game thing. that'd be way tons of fun!!! anyway...yeah. britt, erin and i were up late last night talking about...well...stuff. it was interesting. everytime i think we've exhausted the topic it comes up again...with more info than the time before.
MONDAY:
as for today...besides not having poli sci (but walking down there because i forgot) and talking to alex richardson and katie wynns for the first time in a while...not too much happened. goodness...i started this post at 7:57 and now it's 9:05. granted, i don't think i've been typing this whole time, but...yeah. i missed everyone this weekend...but now i miss chris. always missing someone/something. i guess that's it... :-D

"Leading a team Part - 1":
John Quincy Adams once said "If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, become more, you are a leader." What a true statement! A leader is someone who is leading people, because if you're not leading people you're just taking a walk.
Leading, however, is not about a position or title. There are many people who have the status but not the influence, who have the position but not the impact. Leadership is much more then a business card or a name plaque on the door, to effectively lead a team of people takes a certain amount of qualities, at least if you want to be successful. If you desire to lead a team, to grow an organization and to create a winning environment, then you as the team leader must possess the following qualities.
1) Personal integrity
Author and speaker Brian Tracy stated that "The glue that holds all relationships together - including the relationship between the leader and the led is trust and trust is based on integrity." Without personal integrity you cannot lead. People have to trust in you and have to know that your words are gold or they will not invest their life and future with you. Without integrity you forfeit any future you may have as a leader.
2) Clear Vision that inspires others to action
Jack Welch proclaimed that "Good business leaders create a vision, articulate the vision, passionately own the vision and relentlessly drive it to completion." If you are a team leader you must be clear about the vision and you must articulate that vision to those on the team. If there is not "buy in" to the vision, the team and the vision will radically suffer. In addition, you must do everything you can to drive that vision to completion. It's one thing to dream, another thing to get it done!
3) Displays positive energy
Like it or not you are on display, that is the reality of leadership. Your energy whether it is positive or negative is contagious, so be cautious in your attitude, words and response to people. Norman Vincent Peale exclaimed "The person who sends out positive thoughts activates the world around him positively and draws back to himself positive results."
4) Solution oriented
A team leader must learn to handle problems with decisiveness and wisdom. Showing a lack of confidence in yourself as the leader will only cause the team to feel a lack of confidence in you. Be able to make the tough decisions and show confidence and compassion along the way.
5) Motivates the team
People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel. The duty of a leader is to inspire people through words and actions to become more then they ever hought possible. A true leader motivates the team to both corporate and individual achievements. They bring out the best in everyone! In the words of Stephen Covey "Treat people as if they were what they ought to be and you will help them achieve what they are capable of becoming."CREATE your new destiny- DECIDE for a better future and GO for it.

i have LOTS to write about (i was thinking about it in PE 1310 yesterday) but i left my list at school so i can't write about it until sunday when i get back. long story short: i'm home, i went to the play last night, i had fun, i went to mcdonalds with jordyn, kayla and chris, i came home, went to bed (1-ish), mom came in at 6:12 to talk to me so i got out of bed and...yeah. again, not much sleep. the rain is following me this weekend. today i'm driving to nac to see chris in the rain and tomorrow it's going from the east to the west (as am i) so...it's going to be an INTERESTING weekend...to say the least. anyway, i'll write more later. have a good weekend.

You know you're living in 2004 when...
1. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave.
2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years.
3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of 3.
4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.
5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they don't have e-mail addresses.
6. You go home after long days at work you still answer the phone in a business manner.
7. You make phone calls from home, you accidentally dial "9" to get an outside line.
8. You've sat at the same desk for four years and worked for three different companies.
10. You learn about your redundancy on the 11 o'clock news.
11. Your boss doesn't have the ability to do your job.
12. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home.
13. Every commercial on television has a website at the bottom of the screen.
14. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it.
15. You get up in the morning and go online before getting your coffee.
16. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. :)
17. You're reading this and nodding and laughing.
18. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this message.

yay for the water line being broken and the campus loop buses not being able to go down to sewell park because the street's been closed off. YAY! for walking down AND up the hill. i know, i know. it's not that big of a deal...except that i do it twice...both ways today since it's thursday and i come back to my dorm between prevention of disease (i got a 94 on my test, by the way) and beginning weight training. *sigh* oh well. aaaand i'm starting to remember why i walked with my head down before. yes, part of it was because i didn't have enough self-confidence to walk with my head up...actually looking people in the face, but the other reason was because when you walk with your head down...YOU CAN SEE WHAT YOU'RE STEPPING ON/IN!!! no, i didn't step in poo or anything, but i have almost killed myself about 5 times the past two days. i need to see where i'm going...and by that i mean what uneven pavement i'm stepping on. so much for being a "heads up" kinna girl...
well...since i had to walk all the way back from jowers today, i decided to stop and get a smoothie...and chocolate-chip cookie if they had them. (realize that karen and i have been trying to get an otis spunkmeyer cookie for the past 2 days AT LEAST! but they never have the kind we want or stupid people cut infront of us.) so i got both a chocolate-chip cookie (VERY WARM AND GOOY!) and an orange sunrise (i think is what it's called) smoothie. both extremely yummy in my tummy. but...as the time is quickly passing, it's almost time to meet up with the "t/th lunch gang" at the jones. should be fun...
we're going bowling tonight...fanatics...should be fun. come join if you're interested!

Okay, this is Karen again! It's been a long time since I've been around, but I've missed you all way too much! WOW, you will not belief the day we've had. First, "we" means miree and I because the two of us are inseparable. Yes, we are the same person, nothing differs....Well, she's the skinny brunette and I'm the fatter blonde. lol! But we're hott. Seriously though, I spend more time with her than i do alone. WAY COOL! I LOVE BEST FRIENDS! it's not an exclusion thing either, we just get each other. Our hobbies and interests are similar in more ways than one! YEP YEP! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, back to the day.....oh, yah....the color of the day is milky neon pee yellow.....yep, can you imagine it? i bet you did! yummy, huh? Its gonna me a catch on, i know! YES!
So, we (the inseparable us) went to lunch today and were gonna get blimpie. BUT the line was WAY long, no bueno, and simotaneously we decided to get more of a "fatty" lunch...yummy greasy wonder goo! WOO HOO! We ended up at the Burger place (because walking up the stairs i saw a fry and thought it looked good), weird b/c i HATE GROUND BEEF. But today was a cheeseburger day, yep sure WAS! ANYWHO, we're eating and all of the sudden my lower cheek/upper neck SWELLS WAY BIG! ewe, gross! i started to freak out, right? because your "lower cheek/upper neck" isn't supposed to swell. DUH! so i freaked out and decided that i was gonna go the lovely little TEXAS STATE HEALTH CLINIC. Well, they couldn't get me in until tomorrow until 2:30. WHAT IN THE CRAZY WORLD my whole "lower cheek/upper neck" region could have possibly blown up....EXPLODE or something. So, we decide to wait a bit and see what happens. While we are in this waiting period, there was no better way to fulfill the time other than ICE CREAM!!! woo hoo! I LOVE ICECREAM! It is the best food in the entire world. While we're at the marble slab, my "region" swells up to the size of a golf ball. I AM NOT KIDDING! SO, after frantic calls to my momma we decide to go to the "Texas Clinic" for minor emergencies. DO NOT GO THERE EVER! it's crazy and they don't accept insurance b/c they are not approved to, what does that tell you? yah, me too! that they are crazies! We left there, and decided we'd probably be going to New Braunfels or south Austin. Then momma calls and she says to call the hospital to see if they have a Urgent care dealio. Well, they did! and we went. I hate hospitals. I always cry around doctors that arn't Jason (the good looking one at home) hehe! but i made it! they even gave me thoes crazy hospital bracelets. woo hoo! Anyways, something with the lymphs and salivary glands. But a Z-PACK later and some down time, i'll be okay! weird though! what a crazy day. We skipped the college republicans meeting tonight and it'll all be gravy. Now it's time for a movie, DANCER IN THE DARK! while Jace Boy fixes my comptuer...it's got a some difficult removal, wild trojan horse, with high spread ability. have you ever not told someone something so that their feelings wouldn't be hurt...because you know they would be upset if they found out...but in NOT telling them they still get mad at you? yeah...that sucks. it seems like no matter what we try to do, girls can't ever figure it out.

super excited about being in the San Marcos Daily Record (from the angelo state game) on Friday, September 10 and the University Star (from rally in the valley) yesterday. i'm going to bring these home to mom and dad this weekend so they can see them and then show 'em to chris...since he's in the one from the game...i'm excited!!! i love being a fanatic...on the front row, 50 yrd line at football games, courtside for basketball/volleyball, etc. and being in the newspapers occasionaly isn't a bad thing...
going home on friday!!! GOING TO SEE CHRIS ON SATURDAY!!! (there are some mixed feelings about this now, however...ask on an individual basis for more information.)

so i'm WAY excited. renee just called to tell me that she talked to coach bailiff and he said we were more than welcome to stop by today after practice to talk to him. I GET TO GO TALK TO THE HEAD FOOTBALL COACH...AND HE'S ACTUALLY EXCITED TO TALK TO ME TOO!!! :-D (just agree...it's probably not true, just let me think it is!)
if i already wrote about my weightloss discovery then don't continue to read this, otherwise feel free to. ok, so i've decided. i can probably lose weight, but i can't really lose inches. my pants sit on my BONE. that means to lose inches around my waist i'd have to cut off part of my hip bone. i was made to be a mommy. HAHA!! j/k anyway, so my waist can't really do anything but get rid of the pudge that hangs over my pants. (i know, graphic picture...get over it!) buuut...i gotta figure out how to make boobs smaller...besides surgery. if anyone knows, FEEL FREE TO PASS IT ON!!! i'm at the rec workin on my legs 6:00 t/h and i have a weight training class same days. what exercise can i do to make them SMALL?!
ok...so i've figured out the difference between PE 1179A (beginning weight training) and PFW 1110G (beginning weightlifting). they sound like the same class, yes? NO! one is where the strength coach teaches the lifts, stretches, etc. and the other is where the students teach other students the lifts, stretches, etc. can you figure out which is which? i'll give you a hint...i'm in PE 1179A and because of my major, i have to teach in all of my PE classes. interesting, huh? same class...just different teachers. we get graded on how we teach, they get graded on how much they lift. i think it's kinna funny.
next week we get measured and we do one rep maxes. i'm not so worried about the one rep maxes because i know i'm weak so that's not going to surprise me; the measuring, though?! i don't want EVERYONE to know how big i am. that's sad...and personal. i was sitting between two girls today when latson told us that we're measuring next week and we all kinna looked at each other and i was like "i think i'm going to have to miss all next week." so one of the girls next to me was like "yeah...that's going to be every girl's favorite day. getting measured. now, is that REALLY necessary?" it was funny...guess you had to be there... ...nm...

so mondays? NOT my favorite days. (actually, that's a lie...) i was SOO busy yesterday. didn't feel like i got any "miree time" yesterday but it's ok because i have time for that in the shower, right?
anyway, mondays...i have class from 9-11 (jowers), 12-1 (centennial) and 3-5 (jowers); fanatics officers meeting at 5:15-6; fanatics meeting 6-7-ish; dinner; START homework; talk to chris when he gets off work (11:45-ish); BED TIME!?? buuuut yesterday was a little different than that. so yesterday i had all my classes, meetings and everything, but right after the fanatics meeting (we had "free" pizza, so we didn't have to go eat dinner after the meeting) i came back to the dorm to get my book and spiral to study for my prevention of diseases test (today at 9:30) because i was going with karen to austin to hang out with matt before we had to pick britt up from the airport. so...yeah. came back, grabbed my books and we were off. then we got to matt's, baked brownies, they talked to jace online while i ATTEMPTED to study but got a little too involved in their conversation and they had to keep explaining who they were talking about since they both live in flower mound (where i'm going on oct 1) and i'm from spring. aaanyway, yeah. so after that we went to the airport to get britt and...yeah. then we came home. it was about 12:15 when we got back from austin and everything and...yeah. then i was on the phone with chris while i was "studying" until about 1:15, got in bed at 1:22 and woke up this morning at 5:33 to get ready to go workout with karen. THAT was a bit of a challenge to say the least, but i still got my 35 minutes and 365 kcals. AAAAND i did 45 crunches--15 straight; 15 to each side.
i'm WAY excited about this week. first of all, britt's home so there are 4 of us again, "fall begins" tomorrow, deryk comes on thursday for erin, i go home friday for austin's play and (hopefully) get to see mrs. chason, jordyn and vanessa, and SATURDAY I'M GOIN TO NAC TO SEE MY BABY!!!! :-D (but i'm not excited about the last one...can you tell? 4 days.) mom and dad's anniversary is on saturday, as well, so i get to pick up flowers and a card for them from the 4 of us.
i love my parents. i want a relationship like that. one THAT loving. one where we DON'T fight...at least not in front of other people. RARELY ever in front of the kids...so that when they see us fight it makes them uncomfortable instead of comforting them. i want to be loved the way my dad loves my mom. i want to make my kids SICK by kissing in front of them. just...stupid little things about my parents. i'm way lucky and i know that. sheltered? very! ok with that? YES! you know why? because i still learned the MOST IMPORTANT THING in life...how to love! even though i may not be the best at expressing it sometimes, i was taught by the best what it means to love and be loved in return...and because of it i refuse to "settle" for some guy who's gunna treat me less than my dad treats my mom. spoiled? probably. ok with that? OF COURSE!! i know how a good family feels. i know what it feels like to have a really close relationship with all of my family members...and to have a DIFFERENT kind of relationship with all of them. call me a "daddy's girl", call me a "spoiled baby", call me whatever you want...whatever makes you feel better about yourself. i know i'm lucky. i just wish everyone could have grown up in the family atmosphere i grew up in where love was always present...ALWAYS!!
enough of that...i'm going to meet jace and karen at THE JONES for socializing because k and i are going to the den for lunch after our classes...

HOLY OH MY GOODNESSES!!! ok...tonight's game? UNBELIEVABLE!!! if you go to texas state and didn't go to the game, you should be ashamed of yourself. tonight's game was the best game i have ever seen...and i thought one of them last year was crazy. NOPE! this one topped it by FAR! ok...so we played southestern louisiana, yes? they CREAMED mcneese 51-17. mcneese, for those of you who don't know, is favored to win our conference again this year. HOWEVER, our team tonight put up a BIG 'ol fight and we were NOT going to let them walk away from here like they walked away from the game last weekend. NOPE!!! NOT SO MUCH!!! our boys knew we were behind them 110% of the way and even though they toyed with our emotions (major emotional rollercoaster towards the end of the game), we pulled through in DOUBLE OVERTIME AND WON 31-28.
YOU ATE 'EM UP CATS!!!!!! and it was wonderful!!!! :-D
ok, so quick game recap (from what i can remember...it's all kinna jumbled up now...). half time, we were up 14-13 and then we scored not too long into the 3rd quarter to put us 21-13. we scored again and got it to 28-__ (i can't remember their score at that point) and then they scored a few times, i guess, and kicked a field goal...which brought the score to 28-28 with :45 left on the clock. so they ran it out and we got the first play in the first overtime. GOOD DEAL, right?! yeah...NO! we were on the 1 yrd line, decided to kick it in, got a 5 yrd penalty and then missed the kick. (it bounced off the goal post.) then they went and were ON the goal line, 3 and inches when they fumbled and WE LANDED ON THE BALL!! so it was time for second overtime. i'm not sure who won the cointoss, but they went first and missed THEIR field goal so we went...and MADE OURS!!! YEAH BABY!!! it was the most emotinoal, exciting, *at a loss for descriptive words* game i've ever been to. aaanyway, so...yeah. AND WE HAD FIREWORKS AFTER THE GAME!!!!
i'm not really sure if it's tradition or not, but after our games, the band plays "hey baby!" and tonight everyone who was still there after the game sang it...together...it was neato...guess you had to be there...
david and i were really super thirsty, so dad took us out to sonic (where my baby works!!) for whatever we wanted. i got an orea sonic blast, mom got a cone, dad got a shake and doodle got a #3 with a #1 burger, tater tots, and a route 44 strawberry limeade. YUM!!! i love those...and when he was finished drinking all the stuff out of it, he let me have it to eat the strawberries and ice. the sonic here gives half a lime in those drinks. is that normal? the ones in houston give smaller 1/4-ish size lime chunks. but...it's all good, right? hehe...anyway, i just throw that part away. i'd be JUST fine with out it...infact, i don't think i would be able to tell a difference if the lime weren't in there?! speaking of limeades, though...does anyone know how to make one? do you just add sprite and strawberries (or whatever fruit you get) together? if so...i'll do taht myself. i''m not going to pay someone to do it for me. SORRY!!! TOO LAZY!!!!
i'm getting super tired...and i have to get up super early for church in the morning. YAY!! sooo...i'm going to bed after my shower (cuz i'm NOT a pretty smell right now...).

i'm studying for my poli sci test with one of the football players on sunday night! YAY!!! his name is Gary Shepard, number 7, DB (i think that means defensive back, right mike?!), he's a JUNIOR and he went to school at westfield. cool beans, huh!? yeah...i thought so too. when i told him i went to klein he was like, "it's alright. we always beat y'all." i typed up all the notes for us, so we'll see how our studying goes. HOPEFULLY studying with other people will make this test easier, but since karen said that henderson's tests are nothing like the review sheets, i think i'll study the review sheet with gary and then come back to the room and VIGOROUSLY study all 10 pages (typed) of my notes. sound good?
daddy just called...THEY'RE ALMOST HERE!!! YAY!!! and he's bringing me drain-0 for our clogged bathtub. *yuck*

well well well...time for another post, eh? hehe..sorry, i've noticed that i always start them off the same way, so i thought i'd try something new and different today. aaaanywho (chris...that's for you), this weekend in family weekend so [part] of my family (dad, mom, david) are coming to visit today around 11:30-ish (says dad). WAY excited about seeing them again! i miss my family. it's sooo different being here and being there. and everytime i think i'm used to things, i remember how much different (sometimes better) things were at home and it makes me cry. *tear* buuuuuut, they're coming today so i'm ready to see them again. however...since they're coming, we had to clean. and if you've seen my dorm room (namingly the BATHROOM), you know how much of a feat that is. yep yep yep. so i woke up this morning about 9:15 and just stopped cleaning because my arm hurts from windexing everything. don't get me wrong, there's a guy that comes to clean every week, but we're too lazy to pick our stuff up so he can clean. NOT ANYMORE!!! i did my cleaning duties for long enough. that was some NASTY stuff...since it hadn't been cleaned since we got here. yeah...just imagine...or better yet, don't put yourself through that. chris came over the other day and said, "OOOOOH GROOOOOOOOSS!!!! YOUR BATHROOM IS DISGUSTING!!!" ok, so when a GUY says we live in filth it's getting B-A-D BAD! (jordyn, that was for YOU!)
last night was rally in the valley. thanks for going with me, karen! i wish other people (not going to mention names) would go, as well. it lasted from 12:00- about 12:25. coach bailiff was there...even though i thought chris and jerry had decided not to have him go out, but it's all cool. jessica, karen and i all got "rally in the valley"shirts so we wore those. FREE STUFF IS WAY GOOD IN MY EYES!!
i miss my boyfriend. i'm not going to turn this post into a sappy thing, but i really do. baby, if i haven't already told you a MILLION times, PLANT YOUR FEET!!!!!! i'm going to be with him at this time next saturday, so i'm getting pretty excited. parents this weekend, austin and the love of my life next weekend, flower mound the following weekend. YAY YAY YAY for having plans.
the four of us (me and my three suitemates) have STILL yet to all be here together for a weekend. this weekend britt's in va with her man, next weekend i'll be with mine and the following one, i'll be with karen...NOT HERE! so...yeah. crazy? i think so! it's the 5th weekend since move-in and we haven't all been together YET...and won't be for at LEAST another 3 weekends. funny? yeah!
i'm way excited. i got my check in the mail yesterday from the university for reimbursement for dropping those two classes i dropped. YAY for that! ...now if i could just remember to deposit them...

ok...so you wanna hear something kinna crazy? it took me 15 minutes to walk down to the pool, 8 minutes to try out for the team and another 15 (well...longer than that because mike and i stopped to talk to chris jones and jerry about rally in the valley) minutes to walk back to my dorm. a 30 (+) minute walk for an 8 minute swim. make sense to you?

ok...so somethings i've been thinking about recently...
i've changed since chris and i got back together. erin said something about it the other day, but i guess it's just taken me some time to actually realize how true it is. here's what i've noticed:
- i used to walk EVERYWHERE looking at the ground; now i look at the ground occasionally and when i walk up stairs, but i look forward and around more than i used to
- i'm not as "shy" around new people as i used to be. i don't know if it's him or if it's the girls, but...something i've noticed
- i'm not so afraid to introduce myself. people make up nicknames for me since my name is "so hard to figure out" but...whatever!
- i feel comfortable around people...talking about things that would have been "no-no" topics a few months ago
- i'm more comfortable around other guys.
that's not it...but that's all i can think of right now. yeah...so TOTALLY excited about next weekend cuz i'm REALLY in need of a chris hug. like a full, wrap around, MEGA, strangling hug. chris (from downstairs) just gave me one and it made things better...but i think i need a MY chris hug to really be better. thanks for the hug, though, chris...i may be comin to you again for one since yours WAS pretty darn good! not feelin so hot today... i think i'm soo tired that i'm not tired anymore...but my stomach hurts, my head hurts, my throat hurts... oh my goodness...that was NOT ok. yeah. so i think i knew FIVE of the ONE-HUNDRED questions on that test. did NOT study the right info at all. good to know...i needed to read the book, apparently. *sigh* next time... as for now, i'm going to go watch tv and read for poli sci (since that test is up next--monday). i'll write more as more becomes available...
oh...and i remembered what it was that jace said that was "blog worthy". karen and i went to him room last night and his roommate was sending him messages via AIM (which we set up for him!) telling jace to send videos or whatever. karen was like "porn movies?" and jace responded, "ha. no. we're too nerdy for porn." very matter-of-fact. it was funny...guess you had to be there...or know jace and karen (because you OBVIOUSLY know me or you wouldn't be reading my blog!)

riiiiight. no sleep is, actually, working alright for me! i "went to bed" this morning at 2...and woke up at 4:3o because karen and i brought britt to the airport today cuz she's flying out to see her man today. YAY FOR HER!!! a week and a day and i'll be doin the same for mine...except i'm drivin not flyin. AAAAAND i'm going with karen oct. 1-3 to flower mound to meet her family and stuff. SUPER excited about this.
jace said something really funny last night and i was going to blog about it, but i forgot what it was. *darn* and something else...OOH...ok, so erin, britt and i were watching tv last night and erin came into our room to turn off her alarm cuz it was going off (yes...at midnight...explain that to me?!) and she was tryin to get up without using the chair. yeah...needless to say, it sounded like she was havin sex with all the noise she was makin. CRAZY stuff. i was WAY tired when i said that last night, but the coffee's been makin it hard to sleep. so i got 2.5 hrs of sleep last night and will be up til probably 1 tomorrow morning cuz we've got RALLY IN THE VALLEY at midnight tonight...and i have to be there.
karen and i are probably gunna go workout today sometime...then i'm gunna take a nap...after i "try-out" for the swim club. i REALLY hope that i can swim a 500 straight today since i'm soo energy deprived at the moment. we'll see, right?! haha...if i don't make it, i think i'm gunna cry...like, seriously...
my first test of the semester is today. am i ready for it? not so much. have i been studying for it? not like i should have been. did i get enough sleep last night for it to matter whether i studied or not? I THINK NOT! i'm gunna fall right to sleep in the middle. NOT good since it's a 100 question test and we have 50 minutes to take it. THAT'S 2 QUESTIONS A MINUTE...if i'm to finish the whole thing.

*** WARNING!!!! BOYS MAY NOT WANT TO READ THIS POST!!! *** so i'm WAY menstrual this week. like...WAY menstrual. ok...my diet this week? yeah...consists of lots of twizzlers (pull-n-peel and original) and ice cream. I WAS SOO GOOD ABOUT NOT EATING ICE CREAM TIL I CAME BACK TO SCHOOL AND WAS AROUND ALL THIS ESTROGEN AGAIN!! *darn living with 3 girls!* so...yeah. emotions? WAY out of wack. i think part of that is the pill (cuz i forgot to take it this morning and haven't been too emotional today) because i've been overly emotional all week. for example: i cried yesterday in the blimpeys line to karen about chris and all that mess. why? cuz i'm menstrual. i've been REALLY good about crying myself to sleep this week, though. 4-5 hrs a night is becoming my usual...but i think my body's ok with that as long as i work out. which is good because i don't mind working out. cramps? WAY bad today. i think it could be because i didn't take my medicine today, but since i'm not totally 100% positive i'm going to keep working out because it 1) keeps my mind off of them and 2) is good for me! alright...speaking of working out, i'm supposed to be meeting karen right now to head to the rec. off i go!!!

someone explain this one to me...
ok, so i was on the bus back from jowers and there were some people talking. i know, i know, it's rude to listen in on other people's conversations but this one was hard not to. anyway, so there was a guy and two girls. they were talking about how tired they are (like, physically) after their weight training class and one of the girls was like, "yeah. i used to be a cheerleader in high school. when we went to the gym to max out, i used to be able to squat 235 lbs. since i started smoking and drinking, though, i'm too lazy and too tired to walk around campus. look at me now. we just squatted the bar and my legs are too weak to get me up the hill. [etc. etc. etc.]" ok. now, to ME that sounds like an easy thing to fix. 1) STOP SMOKING!!! it's going to kill you if you're not careful. 2) STOP DRINKING!!! you're a freshman...which means you are NOT of age to be drinking. i'm not saying that to be a hypocrit, i'm just saying it because it's true. i'm not old enough to drink either, but at least i don't do it all the time...and it doesn't interfere with my physical fitness (?).

yeah...so life's not fair. no, this is not a pity-party post. this is an honest to goodness post.
life's not fair. it's PERFECTLY fair to me. i get everything i deserve and more. granted, there may be some times where i THINK life's not treating me right, but i get more options, more chances than most people ever will.
life's not fair. how is it that GREAT guys always end up with crack-head girls? exhibit a: chris and me. he's a GREAT guy, right? we all agree? he's (almost) never been anything but loving either as a friend or as a boyfriend in the whole 7 years that we've known each other. he's always been there as a shoulder to cry on when i was in desperate need...even when he didn't want to be there. he puts up with SOOO much crap that it's really not even funny. how could life spit in his face and throw me into it? me. i'm a fickle, self-interested, super jugdemental, tw0-faced hypocrit who doesn't deserve anything close to him. i deserve someone who treats me the exact way i treat him.
life's not fair. i have been trying SOOO hard to get over the whole "c-word" thing. every time i think i'm *almost* there, something happens and i snap back into "stupid miree" mode. but he sticks around. WHY!? i don't understand why someone would put up with so much for so little a benefit. in my mind i can't logically justify what he does. i just can't. the cost WAY outways the benefits. (and, yes, i did just say it like that for a reason.) because look at it this way: we're 4 hrs apart, yes? (he's at sfa and i'm at txstate for those of you who are confused.) and we've been "together" for 6 years, yes? so that SHOULD mean that when i see him i'm not at all afraid of what people see/think and i'm gunna run up to him and give him a big hug and cover him in kisses and not care what people think of me from that, right? WRONG! no matter how much i say that's what's GOING to happen when i see him, i know that in reality i may run up to him and give him a big, ginormous hug, but as for the kisses? not so much. not in public at least. why is that? WHY AM I LIKE I AM?
why does life have to be so unfair to people who deserve so much from it?

yay for tuesdays.
i went to bed at 1:30 due to needed erin/miree talk time and woke up at 5:34 to get ready to go to the rec with karen to do our 3o-minute eliptical workout. needless to say my legs are kinna bothering me now. i think i'm behind in my workouts. that SUCKS!
everyday i start off at jowers. (for those of you unfortunate souls who have no idea who/what/where jowers is, it's the PE building on the other side of the river from campus...a 25 minute walk from my dorm.) no big deal, right? i mean, it's all downhill and i get to see campus and i get to walk by the "pond" and over the river and stuff. it's really nice...except when it's raining. YEP!! RAINING! i got almost halfway down to jowers when the sprinkling turned into raining which turned into harder than just rain raining. thank GOODNESS mommy told me the weather was going to be bad and i brought my umbrella with me to class.
anyway, so i've been noticing as i pass the "ponds" that the little baby ducklings i told y'all about a while ago are REALLY big now. they still have their baby feathers (the soft, fuzzy ones) but they're almost full size now! it's kinna awesome. i want to steal one and bring it home with me! hehe...where would i keep THAT?
ok, so tuesday/thursday classes are supposed to be an hour and 15 minutes, right? yeah. my exercise physiology prof lets us go when we start to look tired. today that was at 8:50 instead of 9:15. we've NEVER been in there the whole class period. i don't know how we're going to get finished with all of the material...except that that might be just it. what we don't finish is our responsibility. THAT, my friends, would not be a good thing.
right... so in my beginning weight training class today i was the demonstrator for seated rows. YAY for that. i think my prof think i'm stupid or something because whenever he talks "to the class" he's looking at me, waiting for me to acknowledge him. NOT a good feeling...*sigh*
anyway, i have loads of tests coming up soon and i think i have no idea how i'm going to be ready for them on time. with this weekend being parent's weekend and me having NO motivation to work/study at all...well, i have ONE bit of motivataion, but he doesn't know why he's my motivation. i guess that's probably a good thing, too.
erin's computer is crazy. RANDOMLY it will splirt parts of songs. it's really freaky sometimes...cuz it's unexpected and...well, random.
ok, kids. brandon is in the hospital for __________ (chris, fill in the blank when you find out) so please pray for his safety and quick recovery!

ok. we need to talk about sex. i don't like how casual it's becoming. why do little girls (high school seniors are little girls to me) feeling the need to give their virginity up to some guy who is only going to break her heart in a few months? sweeties...sex is something VERY special. it needs to be something given in a close, loving relationship. if some guy pulls the "if you love me you'll sleep with me" bs DON'T fall for it! if he loves you he won't pressure you. it's not worth it! he's not worth it. wait for the guy who is willing to wait until you are totally and completely 100% ready. boys are stupid. don't let them tell you when you're ready; don't forget that YOU'RE the one who's gunna have to carry that baby for 9 months...and take care of it (probably alone) if you should get pregnant. he can slip it in and leave...you can't do quite so much.
i'm not so sure what prompted me to write this except that i feel like sex is EVERYWHERE! don't give in to peer pressure. everyone's not ready for it at the same time. look at me, for heaven's sakes... i'm never ready for ANYTHING at the same time as my friends are. committment scares the buh-geezums out of me (but, no chris, "i'm not afraid of the "c-word") and my roommate's ready for it. how's THAT work?! someone explain it to me, please! it's nice to have someone to talk about that kind of stuff, though...zach! you're a cool kat! can't wait til you come to school here! ;)

well...erin just cut off the tip of her finger. we had a NICE "roommate bonding" moment here. she's all bandaged up now, though, so i think everything's alright. goodness...all the stuff i had to write about, all of a sudden, is gone. i NEED to get to sleep because i'm getting up to go work out at 5:30...*sigh*
i talked to richard's roommate today. totally excited about going to the ball with him. maybe i should send HIM the pictures of the dresses so he can decide what he likes best!? tell me what you think.

WOW!!!! ok, so yesterday was lots of fun...even though we lost the football game.
first, erin and i went to commons for brunch. i thought i was craving a waffle, but when i got it...not so much good. so i got grits and eggs. (chris loves grits, by the way...) they weren't very good either. so erin and i ended up splitting a cinnamin donut and slice of chocloate cake. didn't quite fit the craving, but i felt better. on the way back, however, i got that "overly full" feeling where USUALLY you would say, "you're going to have to roll me out of here." well, since we were walking UP the hill, i told erin i just wanted to lay on the ground and roll up the hill. she asked if i meant do forward rolls up the hill. since that wasn't what i meant by it i SURE DID get on the ground in the middle of campus and show her. not too big of a deal because saturdays this campus is very uninhabited. yesterday, however, was "campus tour day" or something because there were lots of groups of people with tour guides.
so karen and i went to the baylor vs. texas state game together. she drove. anyway, so we're on I-35 and this guy on a motorcycle drove past us lookin REALLY cool. haha...you know those vests that highway workers wear? those ones with the strip so you can see them at night? yeah. our motorcycle buddy had one of those on. it was pretty interesting. (we laughed...) we jammed out to country music (and gross music) all the way up there. it was a blast! we stopped to get fraps and brownies at starbucks and i changed from my shorts into my SPIRIT pants. as soon as i find the picture that brian took of my jeans, i'll put it on my pictures website. they're super cute! then we got to the game and met up with the fanatics to get tickets and everything.
ok, so karen and i were on one side of the street hanging out with david, t, jessica and david's friends but decided to go to the other side where mike and chris were since chris had our tickets and when we got across the street, some guy walked up behind me and was like "i know this may sound like a strange question, but can i take a picture of your pants?" what do you say to that?! haha...so i let him take a picture of the front and he wanted a picture of the back cuz they're SUPER cute (can't wait for you to see the picture!!)
we went into the game and it was SOO yucky. i was sticky and gross before the game even started. (i hate how yesterday i had soo much i was going to write about...i knew i should have written it all down...and now i can't remember...) so we lost the game 17-24. it WOULD have been a really good game if we had played the way we know how...the way we did last week... but i guess you can't have all good games, right? sfa won their game in overtime 24-17. crazy? i thought so too!
k and i went to IHOP after the game to get some food and i (1) picked out my food by myself...didn't make our waitress make a decision for me (2) didn't order off the breakfast menu...i had a crispy fried chicken salad with honey mustard dressing and (3) ate ALMOST all of it by myself. yes, there were a few olives left when i was finished because i don't like olives, but other than that...i ate all the chicken and most of the lettuce.
after dinner went to david's hotel to hang out for a little bit then went to britt's friend's "oncampus appartment" and hung out for a little bit then we got in the car to drive home. austin called me last night and yelled at me for calling karen my best friend. austin, sweetie, you're my best friend too. i can have more than one, can't i? specially since y'all are in different places. but, jordyn, that doesn't mean that i love you any less, ok? so don't go posting some comment about how i like your brother more than i like you. i'm NOT getting into that kind of an arguement.
the drive was SOO long...and i was a horrible driving partner. i'm sorry k! i love you! i PROMISE!! thanks for driving, though, babe!
i have other stuff i need to get done today since i'm supposed to be going swimming at 5 with e and mike. i need to read and stuff so i'm going to go. hope everyone had a good weekend!

GUESS WHAT, EVERYONE!? I'M GOING TO WACO TODAY WITH MY CUTE BUTT JEANS TO CHEER ON MY FOOTBALL TEAM IN THE GAME AGAINST BAYLOR!!!! it's kinna funny. seems like EVERYONE from txstate is going to waco this weekend for the game! there are going to be soo many people in the stands it's gunna be unbelievable. maybe people will start coming to OUR games, too! hehe if as many people come to the game next week as did last week it's gunna be packed...specially since it's parent's weekend so there will be more people on campus available for the game. i know my parents are coming (because they have yet to see the dorm) but i don't think any of my roommate's parents are coming. *sigh* oh well. i'm really excited for david to come! i miss my baby... hope football's going well for him...and the girl thing. he BETTER go to homecoming this year or i'm gunna have a few words to say. *tehe*

ok...so everywhere you go there's someone that EVERYONE knows...or at least has heard of. here, at texas state, that someone happens to be "Frisbee Dan". he can be found down at the river with a frisbee, short short shorts and no shirt (and a "beer belly"). sorry...i was getting ready to walk into my poli sci class and the people behind me were talking about him and..yeah. i just think it's kinna funny!

yeah...you can tell it's a friday today.
on the bus after fundamentals to ess, there were 5 of us on the campus loop. USUALLY it's standing room only...and you're butt is in someone else's crotch...and your crotch in someone else's butt...and i'm not kidding. but today...not so much. we all got seats...far away from each other. i'm the ONLY one in this suite (of 4) that has friday classes...and i have two of them.
we're such a suitecase university. i don't think the 4 of us have all been here ONE weekend since move-in day. and i'm not kidding.
so i was checking my email this morning and got two really great ones that made me happy. first one was from one of the san marcos elementary school pe teachers (i emailed two of them last night) and she said that she would be MORE than happy to have me observe/participate in a few of her classes. THAT'S exciting because i need to go observe for points for a class AAAAND it will be good experience...good to see if that's really what i want to do! so i'm excited. i'm going to email her back later and see when would be a good time for her and everything. the second email was from the texas state adimissions office about transfer hours and how it works and everything. sooo that's exciting!
it's going to be a good day.
and on top of all of that, i slept last night (again...that's two nights in a row) and had good dreams and i think it's because now i'm sleeping with hollander and i guess he's making it easier on me or something.
a bad conversation went way sour but ended REALLY sweetly last night with the boy. that makes things better because we talked about somethings that REALLY needed to be talked about. feels good to get things off your chest every once in a while. i'm just sorry that things had to be ruined the way that they were, but i'm glad that it's all out in the open now because...yeah. i feel better and i hope you do too because if not, the whole conversation was pointless.

mike's such a sweetie, y'all. ok, so we're doing the swimming club together, right? kim (the president) called last night at 11:45 (WHO IN THE HECK CALLS SOMEONE THEY DON'T KNOW THAT LATE AT NIGHT?!) to remind me that i needed to get my insurance card into her by 1 today. well...that's all good and great...except i can't make it to the pool by then and...yeah. so i IMed mike to see if he could take mine with him and, such a sweetheart, said he wouldn't mind...and that he'd make a copy of it for me too! i'm super excited.
i have such great friends up here...even though sometimes they get drunk and say things to people that they probably shouldn't say. I LOVE Y'ALL!!! (yes, i AM from texas...)

karen and i went to the river today. it was super fun! we didn't put the top down, but it was a REALLY good thing because when we got to the stop sign (i know there are more than one, but still...) there was a "dust storm"-ish thing. it was CRAZY stuff! hehe i don't really know how to describe it. it just, kinna, came from out of NOWHERE!!! but...we rolled up the windows quickly enough that we didn't get any dust in the car.
there was something else i was going to write about, karen, but i can't remember what it was now...sadness. if you remember anything else, feel free to add it when you blog!
ok, so i drove to the river today, right? no big deal because karen ALWAYS drives so i felt bad so it was my turn. anyway, so i'm coming back and there are NO parking spots. PLEASE explain to me how we can have this many cars and not enough spots. HELLO!!! NOTE TO PARKING SERVICES: WE NEED MORE PARKING GARAGES!! maybe during the summer you should BUILD some?! goodness gracious... anyway, after driving around for LITERALLY 30 minutes i saw a teacher pulling out of the red/yellow lot so i drove really fast over to that lot and parked there. last spot in the lot...yay for me...
i'm off to the pool now to swim my 2600 (yeah, laugh it up. i know i can't swim that much) then it's dinner time with karen and, if he's interested, mike. yay for it being thursday! i wanna go out tonight but doubt i'll have anywhere to go. *sigh* another lonely night in the dorm room.

just a few crazy, blogworthy events so far this morning.
1. i woke up at 5:34 (like the odd time?) to go to the rec with karen at 6. i did 30 minutes on the eliptical machine thing and my butt and legs are killing me...but it's a good killing me! we're going to start doing that every T H morning since i have 8:00 classes then. YAY!!!
2. in my prevention of disease class today, my prof was trying to move the overhead screen (yes, the screen itself) so we could see the bottom of the slide (on powerpoint) and it FELL out of the ceiling. literally went crashing to the floor. then one of the guys in the class went up to try to help fix it (because he's a tall guy) and he got one side up, went to fix the other one and the first side fell again smashing into the desk. now there's a BIG dent in the overhead screen thingy. CRAZY! eventually they got it up and we continued class, but...how many people have seen THAT happen in class? sure woke me up!
3. you'll NEVER guess who i saw when i got off the bus today. no...no...no...no...try again... SOOO close! ok, by now i'm sure some of you just may have already guessed, but for those of you still unsure of your answers, i saw KATIE WYNNS! what's that? 2 times in the last 2 years?! and to think...we used to be really really good friends...in high school. *sigh* she's the reason i came to this school and we never even talk anymore. we IMed each other's away messages quite a bit on tuesday (i think) but...yeah. anyway, that's about all that has happened thus far in the day. hopefully something more exciting will happen later so i can blog again, but just in case...have a good one!

isn't it so true, though? i mean...think about all the things you've done in your life that you regret. now...wouldn't you regret NOT doing them? i mean...even if it was horrible and you got TOTALLY busted for it and say you wish you'd never done it, didn't you learn something from the experience? aren't you a better person now because of it? i don't know about you, but i think i should probably try to live by this quote.

sooooo...i appologize for it being so long since i posted last, but things have been crazy around here. anyway...
today started off JUST wonderfully. for those of you who know what my bed looks like, this will make more sense to you, but for everyone else just try to follow along. so i was getting out of bed and missed my desk...and my chair...and fell FLAT on my butt then hit my head because i had so much momentum backwards. YAY for that... then i jumped in the shower, powerwalked down to jowers and made it in 22 minutes, sat through orientation to ess then went to my gymnastics class. THAT was fun... we did 15 crunches, 7 clap push-ups, jogged, skipped, galloped, did cartwheels, round-its and roundoffs. my butt, needless to say, is really sore now. *sigh* oh well...i still need to work out tonight, but i don't know if i'm really up to it.
yesterday erin and i went down to 5-mile for the first time this year. it was REALLY nice...peaceful. we both brought textbooks down there and read while laying out. i drove so we could put the top down. connie needs some air in her tires...hopefully daddy will do it for me when he comes next weekend or we'll do it the next friday when i go home. anyway, yesterday...what else happened... ok, 5:30 at the pool we had our first swimming club meeting. mike and i are going to do that together in hopes that one day (hopefully next fall) we will be able to have a Texas State swim team again. that'd be really nice... classes are going alright, i guess...not too much to talk about.
chris was here last weekend. that was nice...but now i miss him a lot. i hope he gets all his stuff in order so he can transfer here for next semester. we'll see, though, right?!
mom, dad, and dave are comming the 18th for parents weekend! i'm super excited because this will be the first time david's come to see me. he's never been to the campus before so i hope it's fun for him! and the game's gunna be fun for him, i hope...if we win...which we will?! *hehe*
renee, jessica and mike were on the front page of the university star yesterday. (i'm standing right next to jess...but was not in the picture...)
wanna hear something crazy? my three roommates and myself were up late on monday night (since it was the first time we were all back together after the weekend) and had "the sex talk". it was crazy. i feel so uninformed...
well...i guess that's it for now. gotta get some reading out of the way... have a good one!
